Sarah is a highly skilled and knowledgeable consultant who has been invaluable during our time in ‘notice to improve’. Mathematics was an area that had suffered much neglect in the last few years at our school. As part of the ‘notice to improve’ package put in place by the Local Authority we were fortunate to have access to the skills of Sarah. By providing; quality 1-1 support to teachers lacking in confidence, stimulating and inspiring staff meetings and thorough book and planning scrutinies we have managed to improve our teaching in mathematics from satisfactory at best to good in two terms. This has impacted upon the children where we have seen outstanding progress in each year group. Although budgets have been tightened this year we have already booked quality training with Sarah as only the best is good enough for our children.

We are pleased to introduce you to our new mathematics consultancy company, First4Maths. We have created First4Maths after working together as consultants for 7 years and through working together we have developed a shared vision for the development of mathematics in the schools in which we work. We are committed to developing a love and understanding of mathematics for children and the adults that work with them. Our training and support is meaningful, engaging and can be realistically and effectively implemented within school. This is further enhanced by the role that we are currently sharing at Ashton Hayes Primary School as Y5/6 teachers, Mathematics Subject Leaders and Assessment Leads.

We have supported a wide range of schools, from those that are in a vulnerable position to those that are looking to further enhance their outstanding practice. Our comprehensive analysis of schools’ strengths and areas for development has resulted in appropriately targeted support packages being put in place which have ultimately led to improved outcomes for children. We have gained the trust and respect of the teachers that we have worked with by setting out clear expectations for changes needed and by modelling the effective practice that is required to bring about improvements in the standards and delivery of mathematics.

Details of our courses are detailed here and are available on our website www.first4maths.co.uk If these courses do not meet your school’s priorities, we are able to provide in-school support. You can be confident that our support will be tailored to your needs and will have a positive impact on the children and families within your school community.

If you would like to arrange an initial consultation to discuss a tailored support package, please contact Sarah on 07754 544167 – [email protected] or Toni on 07725 890184 – [email protected]

We look forward to working with you in the future.
