NEW EVENING PRAYER TIME

We’re gathering in the sanctuary every Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. We’re not praying for revival. We’re not praying for the Spirit to come to our church. We’re experiencing revival…experiencing the Spirit. We will be entering into the experience that the Holy Spirit has for us each Tuesday. Join us.

ALL-STAR SPORTS CAMP

July 15-19, 2019 | Ages 8-12

Returning for a 19th year! Instructors are brought in to introduce 8-12 year old boys and girls to sports like basketball, football, soccer, golf, tennis, lacrosse, and volleyball. This is a very popular camp, spots fill up quickly.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

July 23-25, 2019 | 3 Years through 5th Grade

This year’s theme is GRACE-LOVE-GO! Kids will experience God’s redeeming GRACE, God’s great LOVE for them, and discover ways God asks us to GO share his love with others.

After the opening session each morning, 4th and 5th graders will have their own brand new experience called, “VBX!”

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL CREW LEADER OPPORTUNITY!

July 23-25 | 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

This year's Vacation Bible School theme is GRACE-LOVE-GO! Kids will experience God's redeeming GRACE, God's great LOVE for them, and discover ways God asks us to GO share his love with others.

Volunteering at VBS is a fun way for adults to interact with kids from all walks of life. We are looking for 40 adults to serve as Crew Leaders who shepherd kids from activity to activity. You may sign up at the Nursery Desk in the children’s department or online at fumctulsa.org/summercamps. (Camper Registration closes Monday, July 15.)

AVANT UMC WORK DAY

Saturday, July 13

Our own Shelli Pleasant is the pastor of Avant United Methodist Church. Their church building suffered last month during the devastating flooding that took place in the area. First Methodist will be participating in two work days at Avant UMC to help them in the hard work of restoring their worship building.

• July 13• Avant UMC | 359 Broadway | Avant, OK• 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. | 1:00-4:00 p.m.• Lunch from 12:00-1:00 p.m. (Provided)

We will be helping pull up damaged floors and scrubbing and cleaning wood. We ask that those who participate wear closed-toe shoes and bring work gloves and crow bars.

RADICAL HOSPITALITY “TRY IT” MONTH AT FUMC TULSA

Every Sunday Morning in July

Come to the Connection Suite (2nd Floor/Across from McBirney Chapel) at 8:45 or 10:15 a.m. and be matched to the Connection Ministry Hospitality Team of your choice! You will be “quick trained” and shadow an experienced volunteer on one of five teams:

• Entrance/Exit (45-minute shifts)• Guest Services Desk/Guest Guide (45 minute-shifts)• Library/Library Café (75-minute shifts)• Usher/Greeter (60-minute shifts)• Community Group (Sunday School) Hospitality (30-minute shifts)

All teens, adults, families, and groups from Sunday School classes are encouraged to participate! Come be part of that critical “first 10” (minutes) when most guests decide if they will be returning for a second visit, or more.

Let’s fill these buildings with volunteers on every floor, at every entrance and elevator, in every gathering space, and welcome our guests in ways that will encourage them to return and take a closer look!

HEAR FROM MISSION TEAMS AT THE FAMILY TABLE

Join us at the family table this July! We’ll hear from the family Guatemala mission team. They’ll share about their trip and give us an update on the work happening with Escuala Integrada in Antigua, Guatemala. We’ll also hear from the college Ecuador team about their time serving with YoungLife.

Global Outreach will provide salad, pizza, and drinks. Bring a dessert to share and join us as we hear from our global outreach team!

COLLEGE/YOUNG ADULT GATHERINGS

Are you in or starting college? Launching yourself in a career? Or even taking a gap year? The College Ministry is in gear and a great place for young adult fellowship. The College Community Group has started meeting Sundays, at 12:30 p.m., in the Culture Lab (1001 S Main). We’ll do lunch and dialog about the challenges you’ll face from a Christian perspective.

We’re also gathering on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Culture Lab. Come hungry for food, but mainly come hungry for the Word.

Connection/Hospitality Ministry

“The reason I serve with the Connection/Hospitality Ministry is because FUMC is my ‘house’, and it has been for many years. I want to welcome everyone in as if they were visiting me in my home, because they are! At this time, I am not serving anywhere else on Sunday mornings, my help is greatly needed, and that’s all the reason I need to serve in this way. There’s a lot going on in this big, beautiful place on Sunday mornings, and my gift of just 45 minutes, once a month, is the least I can do to invest in the future of a church my family and I dearly love.”
