Dear Friends, I am excited as we enter the season of Advent and Christmas. Eve-ry year I get caught up in the spirit of this season. One of my earliest memories of the season of Advent was here at FELC when I was a boy. I distinctly remember being a part of the kid’s choir and during Advent we sang the wonderful Advent hymn, “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.” I still get a tear in my eye when we sing this hymn. It touches my heart as we invite our Lord to come to us and be with us as He has always been with us in the past. O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. Friends, may our season of Advent and Christmas be filled with the presence and wonder of Emmanuel, the Lord is with us! Yours, Pastor Jim

NO SATURDAY WORSHIP - Saturday, December 5th there will be no Saturday evening worship service due to the Victoria downtown Christmas Parade. Church will resume Sunday morning with worship at 8:00 & 10:30 a.m.

SUMMARY OF FELC COUNCIL MEETING October 15, 2015

The following members of the Nominating Committee were ratified:

Harold Pearson was ratified as a member of the Board of Elders.

During the Financial Report, it was agreed to review the building use charges for the Crossroads Christian School.

Jason Morrow was approved to assume the position of video tech in addition to his present job of editing the videos of Sunday services.

Aaron Muegge resigned as Chairman of the Heritage Day Committee.

Use of the Hiller Activity Center by the Victoria Association for Cit-izens with Disabilities was approved for two events: A Mardi Gras event in March 2016 and a Special Needs Prom in April or May 2016.

A project to upgrade the hearing devices in the sanctuary for the hearing impaired was approved.

POINSETTIAS FOR CHRISTMAS If you would like to place a poinsettia on the Altar at Christmas in Loving Memory or in Honor of a loved one, order forms are in the Narthex and the Church office. Please fill out one form for each poinsettia ordered. The price is $15.00 each and will be fur-nished by the Foliage Shop. They will be uniform in size with the same wrapping and bow. You may place your payment with your order form(s) in the yellow envelope in the Narthex or mail it to the church office at 516 N. Main St. Victoria, TX 77901. The deadline for your order/money is Wednesday, December 9th. The florist is unable to take any orders after that date. Please note that you may pick up your poinsettia after the 7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve Worship or anytime before 5:00 p.m. Monday, January 4th. The poinsettias will be placed in the Sanctuary the weekend before Christmas Eve for everyone to enjoy their beauty in case you are not able to join us for our Christmas Eve services.
