The volatile and dangerous conditions of a fire scene can be extremely demanding on fire fighting equipment. With that in mind, the designers at Scotty FIREFIGHTER have created equipment which will stand up to virtually anything the fire scene can present. We have produced equipment made from materials that are light weight, will not corrode and require very little maintenance - perfectly suited for today’s harsh fire environments.

Scotty FIREFIGHTER has recognized the need to provide effective and affordable priced equipment to firefighters. Scotty has also focused on the urgent need to make available to rural areas an effective way of combating fire when the timely arrival of professional fire fighting services is not possible. These needs in particular have given Scotty FIREFIGHTER the direction in developing our product line.

Having and using the right equipment is one of the principle elements in avoiding a catastrophe. Scotty FIREFIGHTER has developed products with that in mind. The forest industry has long understood the benefits of foam as an extinguishing agent. Foam concentrates are specifically formulated to make water more efficient by reducing surface tension, allowing the water to spread out, penetrate and create a protective blanket, knocking down the fire quickly and protecting the surrounding areas.

Appropriate mix ratios will give foam unique clinging properties, allowing for very effective structural fire fighting. Our products benefit Municipal, Urban Interface and Industrial fire situations where a quick response is required.

Our development concept is based on the proven effectiveness of Class A foam for cellulose based fires and Class B foam (AFFF) for flammable liquid fires. Our eductors are available with various flow rates, and coupled to our selection of matching air-aspirating nozzles, combine to offer versatility in many fire-fighting situations.

4000-BPForestry Water Pump and BackpackThe Scotty 4000 pump is a single action pump. The pump has a brass pump chamber protected by an engineering-grade polymer sleeve. No tools are required to disassemble the unit. 4002FILL-NPSH/4002FILL-NHT Backpack Fill Station The Scotty 4002FILL provides a quick and easy method to refill water - carrying backpacks. Just insert between any 1-1/2” outlet and hose to allow a single-handed quick connect to the 3/4” GHT fitting on the pick up hose of any Backpack. The system consists of a 1-1/2” Water Thief Tee, Double Female Connector (for connection to NHT or NPSH pump outlet), Thread Changer (for connection to NHT hose), 4 foot Hose and Quick Connect shut-off.

All components of the system are made from glass-filled nylon or PVC and are impervious to corrosion. For connection to NHT pump outlets and hoses, order 4002FILL-NHT. For connection to NPSH pump outlets, order 4002FILL-NPSH.

The new Scotty 4002V Water Vest, like its Backpack counterpart, will enable users to carry water or foam concentrate liquids in a comfortable, efficient manner. It comes complete with 5 quick release front buckles ( 3 across the chest and 1 on each shoulder ) making removal quick and easy. The 4002V is capable of holding up to 6 gallons. The Scotty 4002V Water Vest is available for purchase by itself (4002V), with a Water Hand Pump (4000-V) or with a Foam Hand Pump (4000F-V).

no z z l e sAir Aspirating Foam NozzlesScotty Air Aspirating Nozzles are manufactured from the latest engineering grade composite polymers for resilience and durability on the fire scene. They are available in 8 flow rates.

All 1.5” Scotty Air Aspirating Nozzle come with a double female connector, 4085 for NPSH or 4086 for NHT.

The nozzle base is designed with standard 1.5” NPSH male fire hose threads (3/4” Garden Hose Thread for 4003 and 4005). They can be adapted to a 1.5” coupling on a fire hose with either a Forestry 4089 “Quick-Connect” female adaptor a threaded “Stortz” adaptor.

4005 Penetrator NozzleThe Scotty Penetrator Nozzle is specifically designed with a 1/4” discharge orifice. When connected to the end of a fire hose, it generates a high-velocity water jet. The pencil thin water jet penetrates the duff in Wildland fire, extinguishing deep-seated fires. When used in conjunction with Class “A” foam this nozzle is an extremely effective tool on duff fires. Comes with 1.5” double female connector. Please specify 4005 for NPSH and 4005A for NHT when ordering.

4032-50 & 4032-100Smooth Bore NozzlesSmooth Bore Nozzles will direct a solid stream of water to its maximum reach with the pressure available. The nozzle barrels are made from Ny-Glass for resilience and durability, making them foam compatible and 100% corrosion-proof. The 4032-50 will flow 50 gpm (190 Lts) and has a 0.550” opening. f o a m m i x e r s & e d u C t o r s4071 Scotty “Around-the-Pump” Foam Eductor/MixerThe 4071 Foam Eductor/Mixer is a simple “A-the-P” unit to educt foam concentrate into hose lines. It is mounted between the discharge and suction side of a pump. For use on portable forestry pumps or fitted permanently to skid units, the 4071 is a simple and effective way for fire departments to add a foam capability to their equipment.

The unit is adjustable, permitting various foam percentages to be educted depending on the nozzles being used. A 4071 includes the eductor, pressure hose and pick-up hose. A 4071KIT includes the eductor, pressure hose, pick-up hose and two connecting tees: a 1.5” and a 2”.

4072Mini “Around-the-Pump” Foam Eductor/Mixer KitThe 4072 was developed for mounting on smaller portable water pumps. Like the larger 4071, the unit is mounted between the discharge and suction side of a pump. The 4072KIT comes with two 1.5” NPSH cast aluminum swivel Tee’s.

The unit is calibrated for preset eduction ratios with settings of: OFF - .2 - .5 - .7 and 1%.

The 4072 is available for flow rates of 30 (140Lts), 50 (225Lts) and 70 (315Lts) gallons per minute. Please specify gpm rating when ordering.

4060 Foam EductorsScotty 4060 Foam Eductors are manufactured in five flow rates; 15, 30, 50, 70 and 95 gpm. They are designed to be matched with Scotty Air Aspirating Nozzles of the same flow rate. The standard eductor is factory set for a fixed 1% eduction ratio. Eductors are available, upon request, for a .5% or 3% eduction ratio.

All eductors will generate 30 inches of vacuum at pressures as low as 30 psi, making the Scotty eductors extremely efficient. Mounted as an in-line eductor on a pump the 4060 is restricted to a maximum hose length of 150 feet. With a foam pail or backpack supplying the foam concentrate, the 4060 Eductor can be mounted to the end of a fire hose.

To adjust the amount of foam solution to be educted, the 4060 can also be fitted with a 4064 or 4065 Variable Percentage Checkvalve (see page 10), with settings of: OFF, .5%, 1% and 3%. These units must be matched to the flow rate of the eductor.

The Scotty 4045-30 Roll & Foam™ Mobile Foam Attack System is a self-contained unit that can transform any pressurized fire hose, water supply line or stand pipe into a fire fighting foam generating station. An average person can roll the unit to a pressurized water source near a fire scene even when the tank is filled to capacity with fire fighting foam concentrate (foam concentrate not included). By following the instructions on the top of the tank, the user can deploy, set-up and spray foam in under a minute.

The Scotty 4045-30 Roll & Foam™ can be installed in an accessible area and quickly deployed in case of an emergency. The unit can be used in industrial sites, installations, warehouse and storage facilities, schools, shopping malls. For marinas, harbours or aircraft hangars the 4045-30 can be configured for Class B.

The system consists of a wheeled supply tank with a 14 gallon capacity, a 50-foot length of flat rack hose, a 30gpm Scotty Foam Eductor factory set for either 1% for Class A foam (4045A-30) or 3% for Class B foam (4045B-30), a matching Air Aspirating Foam Nozzle and a D-Handle, Pistol Grip Shut-Off with swivel connec-tor. The eductor is designed for a nominal operating pressure of between 50 and 100psi. The supply tank must be filled with foam concentrate prior to deployment. The threads on the swivel connector on the Eductor are the standard 1-1/2” NPSH thread type. The user must confirm thread type compatibility between the unit and the water supply prior to installation. A Thread Adaptor is included to change to NHT(NST) thread.

The eductor, pistol grip shut-off and base of the nozzle are made from glass-reinforced engineering grade nylon, making it extremely durable and resistant to corrosion. The barrel of the nozzle is made from high-impact ABS polymer.

4075-15, 30, 50 or 70Portable Foam KitThe Scotty Five Litre Portable Foam Kit, is designed for attachment to a fire hose*. The unit provides a fast and simple solution to a fire scene requiring Class A or Class B (AFFF) foam. The 4075 is available in flow rates of 15, 30, 50, or 70 gpm.

The standard 4075-50 has a fixed eduction ratio of 1% for Class A foam or 3% for Class B (AFFF) foam (please specify Class A or B when ordering).The 4075-50 can be supplied for use with many extinguishing liquids requiring specific eduction percentage ratios, at request.

4039-15FFAFoam FactoryThe Scotty 4039-15FFA “Foam Factory” is a system that can transform any pressurized fire hose or water supply line into a stand alone fire foam generating station. A fire crew can arrive at an incident where a quick layer of foam is required, such as a spill or haz-mat situation, attach a supply hose, place it where the foam is needed and adjust the water flow for the desired foam. Depending on pressure and flow, the Foam Factory can make a “wet” or “dry” foam. The unit can be left unattended to create a blanket of foam over a very large area.

The system consists of a 15gpm Scotty Foam Eductor factory set for either 1% for Class A foam or 3% for Class B foam, a Straight Stream-Fog Nozzle, a D-Handle Shut-Off with swivel connector mounted on a 70mm cap and pick-up tube for a 5 gallon pail. The eductor is designed for a nominal operating pressure of between 50 and 100psi. The threads on the swivel connector on the eductor are the standard 1.5” NHT or NPSH thread type.

f i r e f i g h t i n g t o o l s4577Spanner / Gas WrenchThe Scotty 4577 Fire Coupler Spanner and Gas Wrench is a durable, light weight wrench used to tighten and loosen 1” (25mm), 1-1/2” (38mm), 1-3/4” (44mm), 2” (51mm) 2-1/2” (65mm) and 3” (76mm) fire hose line couplers, swivel hose fittings and anvil lug couplers. The tool can also be used to open standard 70mm caps on foam concentrate containers. There are two different sized slots incorporated into the wrench for use as a gas cock shut off. The 4577 is made from incredibly tough, glass-filled nylon, comes in a high visibility yellow color, is spark and corrosion proof and includes a quick snap belt clip. When purchased in quantities of 500 or more, each wrench can be affixed with a custom dome label showing a logo, website and/or telephone number. The wrench can be molded in virtually any color (minimum quantities apply). The 4577 wrench is 7-1/2” (190mm) long and weighs just 2-3/4 oz (79g).

4579 Super Spanner Hydrant Wrench

The Scotty 4579 Super Spanner and Gas Wrench is a durable, light weight wrench used to tighten and loosen larger size fire hose couplers. Designed for use on swivel hose fittings and anvil lug couplers ranging from 3” (76mm) up to 7” (178mm) hose lines and most Stortz fittings. The 4579 Wrench can also be used to operate standard 1.5” and 1.25” pentagon fire hydrant nuts. The tool will also open standard 70mm caps on 5 gallon foam concentrate pails and the large and small threaded plugs on 55 gallon drums. In addition there are two different sized slots incorporated into the wrench handle for use as a gas cock shut off. 4056 Scotty Squall Wall™

The Scotty 4056 is an easy to use device that creates a wall of water to help cool and protect structures. When connected to a water supply hose the angled ramp within the unit directs the water flow up through the opening vent. Depending on flow and pressure, the Squall Wall can create a wall of water up to 40 feet wide and 20 feet high. The Squall Wall™ can be secured to the ground with a spike or to a plywood plate for fast deployment. It can also be pre-positioned and permanently mounted on rooftops, walls, gantries, even in trees. The Squall Wall™ is available in two different flow rates: 20gpm and 50 gpm at 100 psi. 4048 Mini MonitorThe Scotty 4048 is a “Mini” Monitor system that can be temporarily or permanently mounted virtually anywhere. The system consists of 241 Bracket Mount (can be top or side mounted), a 10” high Swivel Post and Tube Bracket, a 4080 Pistol Grip Shut-Off and either a Foam Tube Nozzle, a Fog/stream Nozzle or Smooth Bore Nozzle. The unit will swivel 360º and tilt up 75º and down 80º from the horizontal. The unit can be locked in one of seven different angles by tightening the included lock knob.

All parts, except foam tube barrel, are made from glass-reinforced engineering grade nylon (Ny-Glass), making it extremely durable and impervious to corrosion. The foam tube barrel is made from high-impact ABS polymer. The 4048 is designed for use with pressures between 50 and 125psi.

4049Mini MonitorThe Scotty 4049 is a “Mini Monitor” system that can be permanently or tem-porarily mounted virtually anywhere. The system consists of mounting plate, a removable pedestal base with a mounted Stainless Steel swivel tube, a threaded tube bracket, a 4080 Pistol Grip Shut-Off and either a Foam Tube Nozzle, a Fog/Stream Nozzle or a Smooth Bore Nozzle. The unit will swivel 360º and tilt up to 75º above and down to 45º below the horizontal. The unit can be locked in one of seven different angles by tightening the included lock knob.

The Scotty 4010-3 is the most simple and effective method of deploying a foam surfactant/wetting agent onto a fire scene from a 3/4” garden hose. Professional firefighters use foam surfactants in their water to lower the water’s surface tension, allowing it to spread and penetrate much more easily. To operate, simply open the inlet side of the mixing chamber, insert a foam cartridge, reseal the inlet end cap, attach to a 3/4” garden hose and spray foam. The 4010-3 will flow water at a rate of 3 gpm (12 Lt./m) when attached to a standard 3/4” garden hose line. The Scotty 4010 Foam Cartridges are 100% biodegradable, non toxic and are available separately. Each 6” cartridge will last just under 1 hour at pressures between 65 and 70 psi. The 4010-3 is recommended for use with water pressures between 35 psi and 85 psi (the higher the pressure, the greater the reach of stream).

4010-MINIFoam Fast™ Mini

The Scotty 4010-MINI Foam Fast unit is a kit used to convert a Scotty 4000 Water Hand Pump, or any hand pump with ¾” garden hose threads, into a hand pump capable of generating a foam surfactant/wetting agent. When installed on a hand pump, the 4010-MINI, works by diluting a solid foam cartridge into the water flowing through the pump. The foam/water solution then passes through the patented Scotty 4003 Air-Aspirating Foam Nozzle producing low expansion foam. Each 4010-MINI Foam Fast unit comes with six foam cartridges. Each 3” long foam cartridge will continue to produce foam through 4 re-fillings of a standard 5 gallon backpack. The foam cartridges are 100% biodegradable and contain no toxic materials.

Each 4010-MINI Foam Fast unit comes with a 5” long Mixing Chamber, a 3gpm Air Aspirating Nozzle and six 3” long foam cartridges. The Scotty Foam Cartridges (stock code 4010CART3) are biodegradable and are available separately.

4010 15gpm, 30gpm or 50gpm Foam Fast™ 1.5” Foam applicators

The Scotty 4010 Foam Fast units are simple and effective tools for deploying a foam surfactant / wetting agent onto a fire scene with a 1-1/2” fire hose. When connected to a hose line, the 4010, available in 15, 30 or 50 gpm flow rates, works by diluting a solid foam cartridge into the water flow. The foam/water solution then passes through the patented Scotty Air-Aspirating Foam Nozzle producing low expansion foam. Each 4010 Foam Fast unit comes with six foam cartridges. Each 12” long foam cartridge will last up to 30 minutes. The foam cartridges are 100% biodegradable and contain no toxic materials.

Each 4010 Foam Fast unit comes with either a 15gpm, a 30gpm or a 50gpm Nozzle, 15” long Mixing Chamber, two Pistol Grips (one with D-Handle Shut-Off) and six 12” long foam cartridges. The Scotty Foam Cartridges (stock code 4010CART12) are biodegradable and are available separately. Order stock code 4010-15 for a 15gpm unit, a 4010-30 for a 30gpm unit and a 4010-50 for a 50gpm unit. Please specify 1-1/2” NHT or NPSH threads when ordering.

Fire Gel KitsScotty Firefighter makes an extensive line of applicators for all types of fire gel products. Fire Gel concentrates consist of super absorbent polymers that absorb and grow to hundreds even thousands of times their size when exposed to water. The polymers, with all that extra water, provide an excellent thermal barrier against fire. The clinging properties of Fire Gel enable it to be sprayed precisely where it is needed. Fire Gels can be applied to metal, glass, stucco and wood. When properly applied, Fire Gels will remain hydrated and effective for many hours. Most brands can be safely applied to vegetation without permanent damage (with the exception of a possible leaf drop).

DE-CON Incident EquipmentThe Fire Service is being called upon more and more to attend biological and chemical incident sites, essentially becoming the front line of defense for the public. Environments that have been exposed to dangerous biological pathogens or chemical contaminants must be washed down with sterilizing agents as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

The Scotty line of eductor kits and nozzles are ideal clean-up tools for biological or chemical incident sites. Liquid sterilizers, such as bleach or chlorine, can be sprayed in required concentrations right at the scene. Scotty Firefighter equipment, being constructed mainly from Nylon and ABS poylmers, is not effected by these de-contamination agents.

The portability and versatility of the Scotty Hand Pump and Backpack systems lend themselves especially well to the hazardous task of decontamination.

Only minimal maintenance is required on Scotty Hand Pumps. Unscrew the Threaded Connector Nut and remove the Piston Rod from the Brass Pump Chamber. Lubricate the Piston O-ring, the Piston Shaft and the Piston Guide with Vaseline, Cosmo-Lube or Lithium grease. A Repair Kit for either pump is available, called FP-REPAIRKIT (includes springs, discs, valve keepers and piston O-ring).
