My Final Demo Teaching

This is my final demo teaching in Southern Luzon State University Laboratory High School. My home based grade and section is Grade 7- Mariner. My final demo teaching happened at the Rondalla Room on September 23, 2014 around 8 in the morning.

When our advisers announced that we have to choose our topic to discuss on our Final Demo teaching, the first thing that came to my mind is the subject area of MAPEH which is the Music. I thought that it would be easy for me to make it as my topic in my final demo. I think a lot of advantage and advantages in choosing this area. And then when I’ve finally decided the area, I think of my topic then. It takes two days for me to make myself realize that this is really the topic I want to discuss in my demo. I chose the different instrumental groups and ensemble during my first trial of making my final lesson plan. I’ve decided to ask Mr. Chua’s advice then he told me that it would be very long to discuss the topic so I’ve decided to change my topic to “Rondalla”.

This topic wouldn’t be hard for me coz I have a background how a rondalla group would be manage. I prepared the room, the instruments, the instructional materials, lesson plan and myself as well.

My final Demo happened like the way I planned to. My family, friends and classmates helped me a lot to accomplish all the things I’ve needed that time. I started my discussion with my activity which is the rhythm game, this will help my students to acquire the proper beat of a sound or the rhythmic pattern itself. After the game, I prepared a video clip of a Rondalla group that is performing in the NATIONAL NAMCYA. So then I also introduced that I am also one of the performers there so they will be motivated for our lesson. I asked them the ideas and information they do have in our topic. The students are really attentive and active in participating the class discussion. We tackled about the roles and the appearance of the instruments in a Rondalla group. I aligned them according to their seats so I can determine those who will play the different instruments. I prepared the instruments for each of my students so they can play in

real life and not just by observing and watching. I thought them a basic Dalcroze Method in Teaching music. I am really glad that they’ve performed the piece that accurate. Though it’s just simple basic sound but yet they performed it that quick.

My panellist is Dr. Helene Daya, Prof. Marife Magpantay, Ms. Alexa Dechavez, and my adviser is Mr. Chua. They all gave me more advices and a lot of compliments. I am so glad that my final Demonstration went really good. I got a high grade that I don’t even expect to have.
