Log on to the PMI website: http://www.pmi.org/Pages/default.aspx

Step 2Please note that to apply online for the PMP examination, you have to have

an account with PMI, i.e. you need to have a username and password.

1.1: If you do not have an account with PMI: Please create an account by clicking the link - “Register Now ”

• Follow the steps 1 through 3 to register your username and password.After providing all the relevant details, click ‘Finish’.

• 1.2: If you have an account with PMI: Please log in using your username and password.

Once you register and log in: You will be directed to the PMI home page, which will look as follows:

Now, click ‘Get Certified’, which is shown below.

To start applying online for the PMP credential, please click the link,

“Apply for PMP Credential”, which is shown below:

Check your contact address: The address here would be the same you

have entered for registering your username and password.

When you are done, click "Next.”

Please note: You should provide at least one address, which will alwaysbe used by PMI for correspondence. You can return here at any point oftime to update your address.

If you want to change your address, please click “Edit”, which is shownbelow for your reference:

You will be directed to the page shown below. Update your address and click

“Save”.

Check your email and phone information: Please check your e-mail and

phone information for accuracy and completeness. When you are done,click "Next.”

If you want to update your phone number or email address, click “Add E-mail” or “Add Phone Number” as shown below:

If you have given more than one email address or phone number, click “Set

as Preferred” to set the email address or phone number you prefer for

communication. Once you are done, click “Next.”

Education Details: Here, please indicate your highest level of qualification.

When you are done, click "Next.”

Eligibility requirements: Please read through the eligibility requirements under Project Management Experience and Project Management Education. When you are done, click "Next.”

Eligibility Worksheet: The following screenshot assists you to find out if you have the required number of months and hours of experience and the education hours:

Click Project Management Work Experience or Project Management Education, as the case may be, if you want to update. When you are done, click “Next.”


Step 6.f

Experience Details: You are required to document experience you'veaccrued when you had lead and directed projects within the constraintsof schedule, budget and scope. The project management experienceshould indicate that you can apply the methodology which are well-defined project requirements and deliverables. You should documentprojects individually, regardless of the number of projects you document.

Please note that the project management experience is required in eachof the following process areas – Initiating, Planning, Executing,Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing.

Note: Each month in which you worked on multiple, overlapping projectscounts as one month toward the total requirement.

II. In this page, provide details of your organization. When you are done,click "Next.”



III. In this page, provide the details of your contact at your organization who should be able to confirm your role and experience in the project. When you are done, click "Next.”



IV. Please enter the number of hours spent in the following process areas:

a. Initiating process: Please fill out the relevant information and when you are done, click "Next.”



b. Planning process: Please fill out the relevant information and whenyou are done, click "Next.”



c. Executing process: Please fill out the relevant information and whenyou are done, click "Next.”



d. Monitoring and Controlling: Please fill out the relevant information and when you are done, click "Next.”



e. Closing: Please fill out the relevant information and when you are done, click "Next.”



v. Summarize the project management tasks that you managed for theproject. Limit your description to 500 characters or less.



When you are done, click "Next".

If you want to add more to project management work experience, please click

the link given, as shown below. Else, click "Next.”


Step 6.g

Education Details: Click “Add Education” to begin entering your Project Management Education.

Click “Add Education”, provide your Project Management Education details, and then click “Save & Add”, as shown below:


Step 6.i

Name on Certificate: Please enter your name exactly as it should appear onyour certificate. This does not have to match the name on your government-sponsored Id that is necessary for admission to the testing center. When youare done, click "Next.”


Step 6.j

Agreement: Please review the agreement and check "I Agree“, as shown below. When you are done, click "Next.”


Step 6.k

Review and Submit: Here, you will submit your application to PMI for review and approval.
