PRAYER of CONFESSION Leader: I said I will confess my transgressions to the Lord. People: And you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Leader: Let us pray. All: Gracious God, we come before you in need of forgiveness and grace. You call us to trust in you completely, but we do not. We are timid and fearful as we follow your lead. We justify our actions and words, though we know they are not what you require. We struggle to understand the new life Christ offers, preferring old habits to risky change. Forgive us, we pray. Help us to be born again into the life of Christ, trusting that you have included us by grace in the family of faith. (Silent prayer)

ASSURANCE of PARDON Leader: Friends, believe the Good News. People: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; Glory to God, #581 as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

TIME with CHILDREN Children recess up the center aisle to Children’s Worship. Pre-K and K-2nd go downstairs, and 3rd-5th go to the Chapel. There are leaders for each, and children can be picked up by following the signs from the narthex.

Announcement Highlights

Dinner Church is now Dinner Table— with a re-launch tonight at St. Luke’s Mission Center, 3655 Calvert St NW, from 5-7 pm. Some fellow GPC members have come together to pray for and reach out to the nearby Glover Park neighborhood. Led by Pastor Rachel, this group is launching a monthly pilot Dinner Table in Glover Park, where neighbors come together over a meal to enjoy rich conversation about the big things in life. Dinner Table is committed to building a community of faith in Glover Park around a dinner table, providing a space where all will feel secure both speaking the truth in love, failing gracefully, listening deeply, and exploring ways to use our gifts to serve God’s world.

Thinking of becoming a member? Join our New Member Conference on February 22, 9-12pm. Membership is not necessary to worship and serve at GPC, but it does give more responsibilities and privileges within the life of the congregation and the mission of the church. Come enjoy a brunch class with the pastors and others interested in learning more.

Thank you to the 88 households who have pledged and committed to our 2020 Stewardship campaign. We need your help to reach our ambitious goal of 200 pledges. To pledge, turn in your pledge cards, call the churchoffice,orgotogtownpres.org/stewardship.Pledge envelopes are available in the narthex today. We are grateful for your support!

Attention Parents of students ages 0 - 5th grade! We have begun using a new format for our weekly children’s programming emails. Our Friday emails will keep you informed about Sunday School, YCW, and singing with Ms. Gina. If you’d like to be added to our list, email Jennie Lopez at [email protected].

Welcome Lucas Gerardo Martinez! Elder Priscila Rodriguez and Deacon Gerry Martinez welcomed baby Lucas on January 30, weighing 7lbs 9 oz, 20in.

GPC Families - Ever wonder how some children get to sing during worship on Sunday mornings? GPC now has two children’s choirs, both of which are always happy to have new children join.

Our Joyful Noise group performs during the worship service four times a year. The only requirement for joining this group is that you have a love of singing, and a willingness to learn the music during rehearsals in the weeks leading up to the performance. Joyful Noise is performing next on Sunday, March 15, with rehearsals in the chapel at 9:45 a.m. on March 1, 8, and 15. Email Jennie to be added to our weekly family newsletter, which includes rehearsal and performance details.

Our Children’s Singers are comprised of older students, who have had experience singing in worship with “Joyful Noise” over the years. These students are typically in 3rd grade or older, and tackle more complex music pieces. Ms. Regina coordinates practice times, typically after church, with parents of this group.

GPC is excited to be bringing back Music for Tots this spring, beginning March 13, from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Children from 0-4 are welcome to attend with a caregiver. Class is led by Ms. Gina, our Children’s Music Director. Ms. Gina has games, Bible stories, and songs to sing with our children each week. The class is $75 for all 10 sessions, register at gtownpres.org/music-for-tots.
