• At a majority of the tournaments a Noble or a Lord would sponsor it to gain more participants, and audience members to come to the tournament .Usually, the sponsor would provide a prize to the winner of the games, and duels. That prize could vary from being money to a pig or cow depending on the sponsor and the type of duel.

• Jousting was a very popular event during the middle ages, and especially at tournaments. Jousting is a medieval duel between 2 knights. Each knight starts on two different ends of a field. Each one has a lance (a long sword) and a shield. The objective is simple. Knock your opponent off their horse before they knock you off your horse. Whoever knocks their opponent off first is the winner if you knock them off you get 10 points

Joust a plaisance- single elimination joust *joust a outrance- joust but against real

enemies with real weapons/actual battle to the death

*pas d’armes- traveling knight would challenge anyone that he crossed to a joust. This event could go one for several months until their were no more challengers.

*melee a pied- knights fighting on foot and the one with 3 hits with a blunted weapon won

*melee a cheval-same as melee a pied but on hoarse back
