“We export organic fertilizers to more than 40 countries worldwide, mostly in Europe and the Middle- and Far East. More and more products are used in retail, but the bulk of Fertiplus, Topmix and Activit is used in professional agriculture. Due to the growing focus on sustainable products, and thereby the increasing demand for organic fertilizers, FERM O FEED extends its product

range further to meet the needs of the customer.

FERM O FEED’s strength lies in the fact that we control the entire supply chain, up from production to delivery. Fertiplus, Activit and Topmix products are all produced in-house, but we also transport our the products to the customers ourselves. Thus FERM O FEED can guarantee certain aspects of delivery and production, where others cannot. Because FERM O FEED sticks to its core business – product innovation in organic fertilizers – we have extended knowledge of the market and organic

fertilizers in general. When our (potential) customers need advice, we turn out to be not just a supplier but also an advisor.

Our goal is to help the Earth maintaining its fertility by producingcradle-to-cradle products in the form of organic fertilizers.

Introduction

An increasing world population, but a decreasing amount of fertility in our Earth’s soil. In many places and countries in the world food is or becomes scarce, because the human population exhausts the planet’s resources. FERM O FEED, an operating company that belongs to Den Ouden Groep, is a producer of organic fertilizers situated in the Netherlands. Our goal is to help the Earth maintaining its fertility by producing cradle-to-cradle products in the form of organic fertilizers such as Fertiplus, Topmix and Activit. FERM O FEED products find their way all over the world; approximately 95 percent is exported to more than 40 countries.

A broad product range in FERM O FEED fertilizers Fertiplus, Activit and Topmix have unquestionably an answer for the specific needs of any cultivation. Part of the ingredients for organic fertilizers are animal and vegetable by-products. Other limited other resources are used to produce the fertilizers. Our products are sustainable and a simple solution for the world wide food problem: organic fertilizers provide the extra support that our soil and planet need to maintain healthy and fertile.

FERM O FEED’s organic fertilizers are attained by a unique and fully automatic production process that is strictly monitored by the veterinary service. Samples are taken from each production batch – these are analysed in an independent laboratory for microbiological quality and nutrient content.

After stringent inspection, the various raw materials are mixed and transferred to one of the fermentation tunnels. In these tunnels, a controlled aerobic fermentation takes places. During this process, part of the ammoniacal nitrogen is converted into organic nitrogen. After fermentation, the raw materials are dried and pulverised at high temperatures. The final product is pressed, cooled and sieved. The pellet diameter is determined in accordance with the customer’s wishes. If required, the pellets can also be supplied in the form of granules. Any pathogens or seeds capable of germination that may be present are killed during the fermentation and/or drying process.

Improving your soil,crop yield and quality

Our organic fertilizers improve the health and well being of the host of your cultivation: the soil. Our pellets de-block and regulate the minerals in the soil, and you will notice the consequence within the season:an excellent result on crop yield and quality.

Decomposing or mineralisation depends on temperature, moisture and aeration of the soil. When temperature runs up in spring, mineralisation will speed up when the plant grows. With a low C/N ratio, the pellets free nitrogen when micro-organisms decompose the organic material. These organisms will also decompose organic material with a high C/N ratio. Whereas an ordinary organic fertilizer is used, plant growth will be negatively affected by low nitrogen availability,

but during the decomposing or mineralisation process of our organic fertilizers the opposite happens: nitrogen will become available instead. Micro-organisms demanding air from outside decompose the organic material in our products. This will aerate the soil and stimulate root activity. Organic material is also important for moisture holding in the soil and the prevention of erosion. Our pellets will absorb three times its weight while breaking down.

Fertiplus, FERM O FEED’s main brand, is an easy to use basic organic fertilizer with proven yield. The content of stable organic material is combined with a relatively high N-P-K content. Additionally, it being a 100% natural product that maintains trace elements, is important for enzyme and photoelectric functions of crops. Fertiplus is easy to apply in the field. Our pellets can be spread over the land using the same machine that is used for the appliance of mineral fertilizers.

Our organic fertilizers are less dense than mineral fertilizers: a special sieve is used before packing the product preventing particles smaller than 2 mm (dust) to be incorporated in the commercial product.

Fertiplus is usually packed in 25 kg plastic bags, but it is possible to pack our products in a custom (private) label. Stored in a cool and dry place the pellets can be maintained for a long time without any loss of quality.

Fertiplus 4-3-3 This basic Fertiplus product is an organic fertilizer with a high ecological and hygieni-cally accountability that comes in the form of a pellet. The raw organic material is mostly comprised from humus structures, that de-block minerals that the soil already contains. These minerals gradually become available, which results into a well-balanced soil. During the growing seasons Fertiplus enhances the development of any cultivation.

Fertiplus is packed in bags from 7,5 up until 25 kg’s or in big bags from 500 kg up until 1500 kg, but can be delivered under a custom (private) label as well.

Fertiplus 8-3-3 / 4-2-10 Fertiplus 8-3-3 and 4-2-10 are enriched recipes, based on Fertiplus 4-3-3. The pellets, available in different sizes, are developed with additives: mineral fertilizers for 8-3-3 and by-products of vegetables for 4-2-10. With these added ingredients, the pellets become suitable for more specific cultivations, while the minerals still become gradually available in the soil, as is required by the crops.

Activit 4-3-2 Activit was developed for biological cultivations, according to the EG-834/2007 and 889/2008 regulations.

The pellet contains all the main elements needed and has a N/P ratio specifically focussed to improve the result of biological cultivated crops. Activit is produced out of the by-products of free-range chickens. Usage of these pellets improve the results of the crop yield and growth. Therefore, Activit is the sustainable solution to increasing the efficiency of your cultivation.

TopmixTopmix has the perfect combination of fast and slow-acting materials. The nutrients gradually become available within three months. Topmix has a high percentage of organic matter, which, due to the presence of essential trace elements, is a major contributor to soil fertility. A number of Topmix products is certified for biological cultivations: 4-10-2, 8-5-8, 6-8-10 and 12-1-0.Topmix can be produced in a custom based composition as well.

BiofilterBiofilter material can be applied as a filter of air purifiers. We supply biofilters in the form of shredded carrot wood, French, or native bark, stem wood chips, coconut and hunks, whether or not mixed with peat and heather. However, mixtures or other customer-specific biofilters can be provided. The various products can stand alone or be used combined for the best possible result, based on the specific situation.
