This event was held on Saturday, February 25, 2017. The main focus was to create a safety test for every CTE sector and share instruc- tional strategies. AFOC was well represented by Brenda Vela, Lizbeth Rubio, Silvia Quijada, Alejandra Salcedo, Jennet Guerrero, Jon Pun, Michael Paradis, Felix Chuquillan- qui, Ricardo Nuñez, Jihad Wehbe, Sergio Gumucio, and Principal Martha Peralta. Ku- dos to Ms. Salcedo and Mr. Nuñez for step- ping up to participate as facilitators/ presenters. Kudos to all. Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.” —Dr. Mae Jemison, first African-American female astronaut BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION Let us thank Ms. Olumifayo Bankole and the Spirit Committee for being so generous with their time once again to coordinate this year's Black History Month Celebration. This year's theme was "African American History Month 2017". In addition to the informative posters and displays in our school lobby, three assemblies were sched- uled throughout the month that enriched the lives of everyone in our school. pated in the Valentine's Student Scholar-

ship Fundraiser. It was a very fun day

for all of those who had their pictures

taken and or sent Valentine's grams to

their friends and teachers.
