No foods are proven to eliminate the risk of prostate cancer, but increasing healthy food choices certainly can’t hurt. 1. Toss in tomatoes. Lycopene is responsible for the bright red color of tomatoes, and several
studies link lycopene to a reduced risk of prostate cancer. Try cooked tomato products like tomato sauce and tomato juice.
2. Get fishy. Fatty fish like salmon, albacore tuna, sardines, and trout are rich in omega-3 fats for heart and brain health, but they also have anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
3. Fire up the grill. For cruciferous veggies, that is. Broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts are known for their link to a reduced risk of cancer.
4. Go nuts. New studies link nut consumption to a reduced risk of death from any cause, including cancer, possibly from the powerful antioxidants in nuts. Walnuts, in particular, may be beneficial in warding off prostate cancer.
5. Caffeine kick. Green tea or coffee every morning provide an antioxidant boost and have been tied to a reduced risk of cancer. Brew it fresh for the maximum benefit.

HealthMarketFive Foods to Fight Prostate Cancer Prostate cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in American men and is thought to be highly influenced by diet. No foods are proven to eliminate the risk of prostate cancer, but increasing healthy food choices certainly can’t hurt. 1. Toss in tomatoes. Lycopene is responsible for the bright red color of tomatoes, and several
studies link lycopene to a reduced risk of prostate cancer. Try cooked tomato products like tomato sauce and tomato juice.
2. Get fishy. Fatty fish like salmon, albacore tuna, sardines, and trout are rich in omega-3 fats for heart and brain health, but they also have anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
3. Fire up the grill. For cruciferous veggies, that is. Broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts are known for their link to a reduced risk of cancer.
4. Go nuts. New studies link nut consumption to a reduced risk of death from any cause, including cancer, possibly from the powerful antioxidants in nuts. Walnuts, in particular, may be beneficial in warding off prostate cancer.
5. Caffeine kick. Green tea or coffee every morning provide an antioxidant boost and have been tied to a reduced risk of cancer. Brew it fresh for the maximum benefit.
