What type of discount is available? Lifeline assistance lowers the cost of basic, monthly local telephone service. Eligible consumers can receive up to $12.75 per month in discounts.

Toll Limitation Service (TLS) support allows eligible consumers who wish to avoid incurring large long distance fees to choose toll blocking or toll control at no cost.

How do I know whether I am eligible? An individual is eligible if he or she participates in one of the following programs:

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Federal Public Housing Assistance or Section 8 Medicaid Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) National School Lunch Program’s free lunch program

It was on May 1, 2015 we said good-bye to Hugh. Our family has been overwhelmed by the hundreds of cards, comforting words and prayers for us. Many parents of Hugh’s Speech Therapy classes gave him credit for their children’s job success. He would be so proud of that. Many of his KATE radio followers told of how they enjoyed the music he played as “The Alley Cat” (his theme song). He loved it when they would request songs, especially when Sam & Esther Selzer would call all breathless because they had just danced to “Sam’s Song” in their living room. Don and Janie Christensen requesting “Spanish Eyes”. The cards and memories have helped fill the void for our family. We will always remember the kindness of the Hospice Staff and volunteers, Good Sam’s Staff when Pastor Otterman came in to sing Hugh’s favorite hymns and when he and the nursing staff circled his bed when he was taking his last breath. Our doctors, our Salem friends, Pastor Mark and Hugh’s men’s Bible Study group coming to our house when he could no longer climb our church steps. We made the best choice ever when 60 years ago we made our home in Albert Lea.

It was on May 1, 2015 we said good-bye to Hugh. Our family has been overwhelmed by the hundreds of cards, comforting words and prayers for us. Many parents of Hugh’s Speech Therapy classes gave him credit for their children’s job success. He would be so proud of that. Many of his KATE radio followers told of how they enjoyed the music he played as “The Alley Cat” (his theme song). He loved it when they would request songs, especially when Sam & Esther Selzer would call all breathless because they had just danced to “Sam’s Song” in their living room. Don and Janie Christensen requesting “Spanish Eyes”. The cards and memories have helped fill the void for our family. We will always remember the kindness of the Hospice Staff and volunteers, Good Sam’s Staff when Pastor Otterman came in to sing Hugh’s favorite hymns and when he and the nursing staff circled his bed when he was taking his last breath. Our doctors, our Salem friends, Pastor Mark and Hugh’s men’s Bible Study group coming to our house when he could no longer climb our church steps. We made the best choice ever when 60 years ago we made our home in Albert Lea.

How do I know whether I am eligible? An individual is eligible if he or she participates in one of the following programs:
