Fault finding… practical example 1
A BMW dealership in had the following problem• R1200RT • Occasionally the engine would cut out (“engine stopped suddenly running!”)• Occurs once every few hundred kilometers!• Owner would wait 5 to 10 minutes and the engine would start again!
By this time…• Bike had been in the dealership several times• Checked and passed all sensors with the GT1• “And even some parts that we actually did not think could cause the problem !”• All in conjunction with the Technical Help Desk• …Owner was not a happy camper!
Dealer Tech got hold of a GS-911• Connected GS-911 and logged real-time values for several trips• Once the problem reoccurred, he studied the logged data
