PerthIn Western Australia first we visit Perth.

Perth enjoys more hours of sunshine than any other capital city in Australia. Its warm sunny climate, clear blue skies and beautiful beaches are making it an increasingly popular destination with tourists. There is good shopping available, plenty of riverside and beachside restaurants and cafes to dine at, world-class golf courses, over 80 kilometers (50 miles) of white sandy beaches to sunbathe on and a mecca of outdoor activities and experiences to enjoy. Perth is an ideal base from which you can explore the diverse surrounding attractions. Only minutes away, you can visit wineries with sumptuous lunches, swim with wild dolphins in their natural environment, holiday on an island, and explore the colourful port city of Fremantle.

Blessed with diversity of landscape and environment, the Heartlands is home to several of Western Australia's most popular natural attractions, like the amazing Wave Rock and The Pinnacles.

It is also a playground... a place where you can enjoy a range of aquatic activities as well as land-based adventures.

This region's flora and fauna are abundant and just waiting to be discovered. A good place to see both is in the Dryandra State Forest; covering 27,000 hectares (66,718 acres) the forest is home to more than 100 different species of birds as well as one of Western Australia's rarest mammals, the numbat.

There is an extensive network of good roads along which sit many old country towns.

The Northern Territory, the essence of the Australian Outback. It comprises almost one-sixth of Australia's land mass and can be divided into two areas, the Top End and the Red Centre. It is six times the size of Great Britain, two and a half times the size of Texas. been home to many different Aboriginal tribes for thousands of years.

ALICESPRINGSIn the middle of Australia, with a population

of almost 37,000, this is the Territory's second largest population centre.

Victoria, the Garden State.

In the south-eastern corner of Australia. It is the smallest mainland state. With a population of over 4.6 million, Victoria is the most densely populated and highly urbanised of all the states. Victoria's capital is Melbourne (pop. approximately 3.4 million).From beaches to rugged mountains in the high snow country, lakes and white water streams.
