BP plc: Exploration & Production Technology Group, Sunbury, Middlesex Responsible for written investigation into failures of electrical machinery, as

part of a wider technology strategy review. Involved communicating with global BP community, analysing data, establishing the failure mechanisms and their underlying causes.

Proposed recommendations have now been implemented on a company wide basis and have been estimated to prevent production losses in the region of $5 million.

Completed several projects, with other engineering teams, involving modelling for electrical protection and control systems.

Part of BP’s delegation to Siemens’ facility in Germany; trial testing of electric drives, presented to the team explaining the implications of my investigation.

Volunteer for a local NGO operating in the earthquake affected region of Pakistan. Identified a viable project for providing a solution to intermittent electricity supply.

Complete responsibility for devising and implementing a small scale but sustainable electricity solution. Led team of fellow volunteers, locals and NGO workers and worked with government officials. Responsible for management of budget, logistics and training of local people.

The demonstration system has been selected for implementation across the region by the NGO.
