First the Good News. No government’s needed to bailout the wind-surfing industry because our sport’s living, breathing proof of the most passionate and healthy lifestyle available. And the bad news? Well there isn’t any. With choppy waters world-over our streamlined range has made major advances with zero compromises to either performance or price.

Fanatic’s a brand with strong beliefs. A pure-product policy drives our marketing concepts, and our team proudly sport only mass pro-duction or exclusive in-house shapes. Period. And that promise to you has paid-off big-time. Every vital statistic generated and stored in-house by our ever-growing CAD database and CNC shaping system is competition-proven. In the past two PWA seasons Fanatic scored more Wave and Freestyle event wins than any other brand. It’s our pleasure to present these benefits for your enjoyment.

Wave In the wave segment, we’ve simplified the offering with 2 full on wave lines – the Single Fin NewWave and NewWave Twin Fin ranges. Both have 4 brand new shapes each, designed in close cooperation by our wave R&D team of Klaas Voget, Victor Fernan-dez (2 x PWA Vice Wave Champion) and new team rider Marcilio Browne – the 2007 PWA Freestyle World Champion. Our best selling FreeWaves have also been overhauled. 5 new shapes with the two smaller sizes focus on allround wave performance, and the bigger three on the wave/freeride/freestyle mix that originally gave the FreeWaves their legendary status.

FreestyleIn our quest for a third World Title we’ve popped-out three stunning and stylish new shapes. And we’ve been busy adding value to the team and product too. Input from our current and two-time PWA Freestyle World Champion Gollito Estredo is now backed-up by the efforts of 2007 World Champion Marcilio Browne. With a bunch of even more top-level riders to call upon, you’ll agree that our team of the worlds two best Freestylers and shaper Sebastian Wenzel is almost unbeatable?

FreerideAn optimized Freeride line means it’s never been so easy to choose your perfect shape. There are three new sporty Hawk models for high-octane bump and jump action or our Freeride Shark line for easy cruising and effortless control. For those who like to live more on the edge we’re offering the trend setting range of Ray Freerace boards. For Slalom board behaviour and Freeride manners, these are perfect for more experienced speedsters.

Beginners and ImproversOur much copied and admired Viper learner line remains the refer-ence in its segment. For rapid learning and progression in wind-surfing there really isn’t a better option. This season we’ve added a smaller Viper 70 to the range for younger and lighter beginners, whilst our Ripper kids board is perfect for the younger generation’s first steps.

PWA Production SlalomThe elite Falcon line is now in it’s second v-bottom generation. We’ve totally tuned the range and launched 6 new sizes. With light-ening fast Flat V bottoms and smarter volume spread, they’re thinner where it matters and smoother where you need it. With an emphasis on control and carving, these shapes are as dedicated as our PWA Race Team.

SUPsA couple of seasons careful research and thorough testing in the background gave birth to three super Fly SUP shapes. Designedmainly with surfing performance in mind, these beautifully compactboards have waveriding rocker lines, yet their harmonic volumeplacement and plan shapes allow for super fun core workouts onflat-water and lakes. As an added bonus all three styles come with windsurfing rig mast-positions to widen their all-round and family range of use. With two models for any level of rider and one advanced shape, you’ll be stoked on surfing whenever the wind fails to howl.To suit everyone’s taste we’re offering two constructions – either durable High Resistance Skin (HRS), or stylish Wood Sandwich finishes. Both lay-ups come with snug and trusty Softdeck non-slip pads.

As you can see, the only cutbacks at Fanatic have been to any unnecessary material in the name of performance. Absolutely every- thing we do for you is because we’re still “Addicted to Ride”. We hope you have a great season and get to try the fruits of our labor. Forget any global crisis. The only thing to worry about is when the wind will next blow. See you on the water!

Fanatic Brand Manager craig gertenbach

6 years ago Fanatic’s shaper Sebastian Wenzel pioneered our shape-shifting CAD/CNC design and production process. But when it comes to sculpting beauty out of blocks of foam, pin-point accuracy and duplication is only one advantage of such a system.

Fanatic’s eternal commitment to design has made for a perfect mar-riage of both software and shaping harmony. After several seasons precise tuning and tweaking, the process is now perfected, and it’s certain that our competitors will take as long to catch up.

What’s more, this workflow is backed-up by an unparalleled data-base of figures from countless tried and tested rocker lines, rail sha-pes and outlines. This resource grows daily as we learn more and more about hull performance during intensive periods of rigorous testing. With the stats to back it up with we can confidently continue to innovate and present proven designs to you.

Sebastian Wenzel:

“Even before we adopted the CAD system, I’d collected information from each board I’ve made since 1993. Every model to leave my shaping room has been archived with notes right down to even what grade of sandpaper I used and where.

But even the best craftsmen can’t compete with the accuracy of a correctly configured CNC machine capable of milling to within a thousandth of a millimetre. It’s been an unforgettable journey to master this eqipment, and even now we’re only beginning to reap the benefits of the software’s capabilities.

With the advantage of being able to accurately compare prototypes side-by-side, progress is almost guaranteed. You only need to check magazine test results worldwide to realise that the vast amounts of time and money we’ve put into this project has put smiles on the faces of thousands of windsurfers.”

With pinpoint accuracy assured, nothing can fault the input of our biggest asset – the Fanatic international Team. This human element of feel is vital. Our strict standard for riders to use only Wenzel-shaped prototypes assures you of the most thorough test process in the industry.

For us it’s simple. Our promise to delivering the best to you forbids us from letting team members pass their knowledge onto anyone but Fanatic.

The best part of all is that the world of CAD/CNC is only just begin-ning. Thanks for choosing Fanatic. Here’s to the future!and even now we’re only beginning

The lightest and most impact resistant Carbon Kevlar, combined with a double PVC /Wood Sandwich and Wood/Carbon Heel Reinforcements guarantees the most efficient construction in terms of light weight with maxi-mum impact resistance. The Team Editions of NewWave, NewWave Twin and FreeWave benefit from a double sandwich deck with Carbon Kevlar layups, plus Carbon bottom layups. The Skate Team Edition has a single sand-wich deck of Carbon Kevlar and a Carbon bottom. All of these models are produced with the Light Finish sanded look, for extra weight saving.

Top quality and high-tech specification Biax Carbon has a perfect weight to stiffness ratio as a result of it´s very fine weave, plus has fantastic dynamic flex. In combination with PVC Sandwich Technology and Glass reinforce-ments, it provides a perfect stiffness/flex/weight ratio on the Falcon Slalom line. We used the same basic con-struction for our Freeride Limited Edition boards, except that on the deck we have an Aramid Carbon material. This specially developed material has a better shock absorbing quality than pure carbon, for more comfort, whilst offering a very stiff and light performance, which is needed for these high performance Freeride/Freerace boards (Shark LTD/Hawk LTD/Ray LTD). All of these models are pro-duced with the light finish sanded look, for extra weight savings.

Using a lightweight yet robust wood and glass fibre con-struction gives a very high strength to weight ratio. In combination with the Double PVC/ Wood Sandwich, this is an extremely durable lay up, the thick sandwich, wood and glass fibre absorbing high forces, even after the har-dest landings! Used on the standard FreeWave models.

A specific combination of top quality Biax Glass fabrics in combination with PVC layers on deck and bottom pro-vides optimised durability for the standard Skates. The light finish helps to reach an excellent weight to price ratio.

A combination of top quality and intelligent layup speci-fications, Wood Sandwich and Glass/Wood reinforce-ments, gives the Wood Sandwich Construction extremely competitive weights at value prices. Used for the standard Hawk model, now also available in the light finish sanded look for the most efficient weight possible.

High resistance composite technology – an optimum weight and durable construction for every-day use. A thick, durable outer skin gives the board hull a high strength, ding and impact resistance. Strategic use of glass reinforcements ensures an adequate stiffness. Used on the standard Shark, as well as on the Viper/Ripper ranges in combination with a user friendly EVA deck.

Widen the scope of turning angles without losing speed or sen sation. Aggressive use from down-the-line perfection to blown-out storm waves demands a vast scale of feel and control. The three small-est models now come in 69, 76 and 83 litre sizes. These all-new shapes are shorter and wider with fuller and softer rails for tighter turns and extreme, dependable grip. We’ve also added tail rocker and tuned the double concaves to maintain speed through any lines you choose to draw. The NewWave 91, our hardcore machine for heavier rippers and light wind addicts, rounds-up the line with an unchanged shape. And of course, all of the 2010 NewWaves are only available in high-end Team Edition versions. This full Carbon Kevlar deck and Carbon bottom lay up both axes weight and dra-matically increases stiffness and performance.

Key FeAtUReS

• Shorter, wider compact outline • Fuller, softer rails forward of outline center featuring softer,

tucked-under edge • Tuned double concave bottom shape for speed and carving

momentum • Amplified tail rocker for tighter, faster turns • Even volume distribution for control in both light and powered

conditions

Klaas voget, 6th overall 2008 PWA Wave tour & Fanatic’s Wave R&d Manager:

“In a contest, I can’t afford to concentrate on my gear. All my focus goes on watching the wave and how it’s going to break. The 2010 New-Waves are exactly the boards I used last season in the toughest condi-tions possible. From Hawaii to the North Sea, there’s nothing better for high performance wavesailing.”

An intensive R&D process and quality feedback from customers, magazines and the team has seen the range grow and the standard raised. For 2010 we’re now offering four tasty servings in 72, 79, 86 & 93 litre portions. For those exploring another world of tight angles in the pocket, and surf-style turning rhythm, the NewWave Twins offer stunning and immediate results. The Fanatic NewWave Twin is only available in our most exclusive Team Edition with a Car-bon Kevlar construction. The light weight and extra stiffness adds even more performance to an already explosive package. Try the NewWave Twin for a unique form of wave riding sensation.

Key FeAtUReS

• Wider tail for better low-end performance • Forward Concave for earlier planing and speed • Reduced double concave for smoother flow at high speeds • Proven rocker – perfect combination of performance and

surfing capability

2008 PWA Wave vice World champion victor Fernandez: “The 2010 NewWave Twins hopped right out of my boardbag and into production. The advances we’ve made are amazing really. The boards have just got so easy to sail. To be honest, although it’s nice to share the results of your work, I’d rather have kept these a secret all to myself…”

Fanatic’s hottest new signing for 2009 Marcilio Browne (4th PWA Worldcup cabo verde 2009):

“I kicked-off the season using NewWave Twins and instantly scored the best wave result of my career. These boards really push the limits in the most testing conditions possible.”

As one of our most versatile and best-selling shapes, our challenge was to stretch the range of this multi-purpose style. To advance usability we improved the wave performance in the smaller sizes and boosted early planing, blasting and freestyle capabilities in the bigger models. The 2010 FreeWave line comes in five sizes – 75, 85, 95, 105 and 115. The FreeWave 75 comes with a US-Box, to reflect it’s wavier orientation. The bigger sizes feature the Powerbox

– the established standard for freestyle, freewave and freeride hulls. All models are available in:Custom Wood Sandwich construction with light finish – unique in terms of quality, weight and value. Team Edition with a super-light performance Carbon Kevlar deck and Carbon bottom lay up.

Key FeAtUReS

• Shorter, more compact shape. Increased outline area in the nose for earlier planing and smooth wave riding

• 70° pintail and rounded nose • New CAD-designed scoop rocker line • Full rails for maximum top-end control. • Fuller and smoother rail in the nose area, with higher apex and

more tucked-under edge

Fanatic’s cAd Master Shaper Sebastian Wenzel on one of his favourite styles:

“I gave a lot of attention to creating more compact outlines with fuller V, tucked-under rails and rounder nose shapes for smoothness, control and early planing. Using my CAD engineering system I’ve enhanced the rocker line that now features a higher entry point, a short flat section and a little extra tail kick to advance the FreeWave’s scale of use.”

The Freestyle world gets more twisted by the day. And as fast as 2 times Freestyle World Champion Gollito Estredo and Fanatic’s hottest new talent Marcilio “Brawzinho” Browne come up with new tricks, our shaper Sebastian Wenzel matches their skills with design. In fact Sebastian’s never pushed his CAD Software to the max like now. Thanks to Gollito, Brawzinho and Andre Paskowski’s input, the Skate line’s leapt into a new dimension born of generations of global test winners. A big part of the Skates’ cutting edge success is its total ease of use. For Freestyle newbies and champions alike it’s fast-planing and simple to ride. The three shapes in the all-new line-up include 100 and 110-litre sizes, plus a 90-litre model for high winds and lighter sailors in Team Edition only. The standard 100 and 110 construction is also in a lightweight Biax Glass construction with light finish – for the best value weight, durability and price combo. All three Team Edition styles feature featherweight Carbon Kevlar deck and Biax Carbon bottom construction. Put simply, they’re the lightest and stiffest high-performance Freestylers we’ve ever made!

Key FeAtUReS

• Rounder nose and slight increase of outline width • Thinner rails between the feet for improved carving freestyle

manoeuvres • Fuller and softer rails in the nose for catch-free sliding

2006, 2008 PWA Freestyle World champion Gollito estredo: “The new Skates match the pace of the Freestyle discipline. Developing the new shapes with Sebastian was a major part of my way to the world title. Just having these boards inspires me daily to take Freestyle to the next level.”

Fanatic’s best-selling blend of speed and maneuverability has won tests and wowed riders world-over. Low-down grunt, smoking speed and a world of fast carves and stylish slides are yours in one perfect package.Sebastian’s CAD software’s created curves to die for in a trio of sleeker, sportier outlines. Formed from our best freestyle and slalom shapes, these 3 Freecarve predators have a wider center point, yet feature narrower overall plan shapes for swooping turns on either the all-new 100 and 120 or 135 litre models. For 2010 the Hawk is available in two constructions:Wood Sandwich Light version – arguably the best weight:value ratio on the marketLTD Edition – Aramid Carbon Sandwich Light construction, with light finish and a CNC foiled G10 fin for an unbeatable performance on the water.

Key FeAtUReS

• Increased center width • 75° pintail for drag reduction, speed and easy jibing • Reduced thickness for superior carving ability • Double concave nose section for early planing and slicing ability through chop • New Power V bottom combining performance and control

Shaper Sebastian Wenzel explains some of the key features: “The Hawks are fully CAD designed, analysed and shaped on the CNC shaping machine. We re-tuned the existing, super-fast Hawk rocker line and carefully analysed the outline curves to support the overall performance. We achieved this by providing enough area to ensure early planing with minimal drag for top speed. The new fuller rail profiles and more tucked-under edge eliminates the chances of catching a rail during either carving or sliding manoeuvres. The domed deck in the tail and footstrap area provides a secure and comfortable stance, and probably the smoothest ride money can buy.”

To streamline the range we morphed the high-performance Freeride Eagle line into our cutting-edge pack of Sharks. The Shark’s finely CAD-tuned scoop rocker lines deliver performance and comfort. The compact and balanced outline, with wider center and narrower tail shapes supported by our CAD Logical Volume Flow, guarantees control and comfort in any conditions. Smooth rails carve through chop like powder for satisfying jibing sensations, and a clean Power-V bottom shape ensures swift water release for outstanding speed and turnability. The three smallest sizes 100, 115 and 125 descend from the Eagle. These three global test-winners now feature high-resistance ‘Shark-Skin’. All sizes are available in un beatable value High Resistance Skin (HRS) that’s perfect for everyday use. The larger 135 and 150 are also offered in the new, improved Aramid Carbon Sandwich LTD Edition, with light finish and a G10 fin.

Key FeAtUReS

• Much shorter and wider compact outlines • Reduced area 80° pintail for less drag, improved speed and

turning control • Fuller front rails for a forgiving ride and smooth jibing. Thinner

rails in the tail for tight turns and grip • Higher rocker for amplified control • Increased V for release and carving ability • Domed deck for comfort and ultimate footsteering feel

Fanatic Shaper Sebastian Wenzel:“The Sharks got a lot of attention and pretty intense R&D this time round. We wanted something that would be forgiving to the first-time jiber through to more advanced sailors hell-bent on cranking powerful turns. The most important thing we achieved from the CAD analysis was the easy-to-use aspect from a more compact outline and smoother volume flow.”

Side-by-side testing with the elite Falcon line means the Rays are the quickest Freerace boards we’ve ever made. Going fast’s more popular than ever. But we understand not everyone’s got the skills to ride elite-level performance Slalom shapes. So to keep your bones from shaking, our CAD database sculpted 4 models give you all the benefits of the Falcon’s blistering rocker line, plus a Power-V to cushion the ride. Narrower tail and center widths match rounder rails for a joyous jibing sensation. Built in an Aramid Carbon Sandwich Light finish construction, the Ray is a total Slalom board solution. High speed and luxury control. What more could you ask for? A fresh new board concept demanded an outstanding fin. Cho-co fins became the perfect partner with a lethal G10 CNC foiled design. This beautifully balanced mix of lift, drive and control is a match made in heaven for such a graceful creature of the sea.

Key FeAtUReS

• Fast Slalom rocker and straight power tail – developed over years with our PWA International Race team

• Slim speed outline • Power-V • Deep double concave entry bottom • Comfort domed deck • Carving rails • Equal volume distribution

top PWA Slalom rider and Fanatic R&d Race/Slalom Manager Pieter Bijl (ned-0):

“The Ray is the perfect board for long distance racing. It offers a bit more comfort than a Falcon, with almost zero compromise in speed. I think a lot of smart riders will choose this board for the new season.”

This season we’ve created six hot models with a range of racy body shapes, and a supersonic missile for those brave enough to dare. Sebastian’s stretched the outlines of the smaller, high-wind sizes and reduced the length of the light wind styles for minimum drag and max lift. Subtle reductions in the double concaves have made major changes to control and turning. We’ve also straightened the outline between the feet and slimed-down tail widths for low friction jibing control. The Falcon Speed comes in Carbon Sandwich Light construction, and all six no-compromise Slalom models – in 86, 102, 112, 122, 133 and 145 litre sizes – come in Biax Carbon Sandwich Light.

Key FeAtUReS

• Straight outline between the straps • Drawn in 75° pintail for lower drag and easy jibing • Straighter outline and thinner rails between straps for better

comfort and carving

• Softer rails towards the nose for cutting through chop and turning • Open V in the tail for max release • Proven CAD-engineered rocker line • New sizes to fit all riders and Slalom 63 format • Reduced double concaves – balanced for manoeuvres

in rough water • Equal volume distribution • Compact Design Concept (CDC)

top PWA Slalom rider and Fanatic Race team tester Pieter Bijl (ned-0):

“We’ve always had a secret weapon with our CAD-formed rocker line but now Sebastian’s given us smarter plan shapes for a wider range of conditions. The stretched plan shapes of the small sizes are so fast they’re frightening and the lighter air models give incredible amounts of lift.”

At Fanatic we’re lucky to have a vast network of windsurfing schools to consult. This vital high feedback on beginner and family board demands helps us fast track your journey to a lifetime of windsurfing pleasure. Bucking the trend for short and wide boards, our advisors have heavily influenced the Vipers’ mix of modern concepts and proven shapes. Thinner outline and finely tuned CAD stretched power rocker curves guarantee a long waterline – essential for stealthy sub-planing performance and joyous first-time planing experiences. A daggerboard system vastly increases light air motion, and upwind pointing while adding crucial stability when cruising. With plenty of footstrap positions to choose from, the Viper switches to an exciting Funboard for more advanced riders. Add a Freeride fin and in seconds you’re ready to fly. Available in four sizes, 70, 75, 80 and 85 cm wide all featuring High Resistance Skin (HRS) and Softdeck construction. Also available as school version without Softdeck in all 4 sizes.

Key FeAtUReS

• Straight outline shape concept – for better upwind tracking and rig steering

• Smart volume flow for maximum sub planing glide • Fully removable daggerboard – essential for beginners, wider

wind range and stability • Softdeck – thermo-heated surface for higher surface durability

over total deck surface • Great allround performance for Freeride sailing • Easy nose handle for carrying and stabilising

What better start to a lifetime of windsurfing than a super-clean shape with heaps of Freeride potential? Carefully distributed volume through the outline and deck flow give a safe and stable platform for those first few steps. And for fast learners, the performance scoop rocker line shoots eager youngsters onto the plane in all but the lightest breezes. Crank the wind up, and here’s your first rocket machine for those who get a taste for speed easily. Soft rails for first jibes and the luxurious EVA soft deck prevent knocks and bruises for an unforgettable and fun-filled experience. Several footstrap and fin placement options let the Ripper convert in seconds to a high performance freerider for adults who just refuse to grow up. Effortless control and ease of use make the Ripper a great Family board for Mums and Dads to pass on their skills to the kids.

Key FeAtUReS

• Compact and balanced outline • Power-V – clean performance bottom shape • Controlled performance scoop rocker line • Multiple footstrap positions for all abilities • Removable center fin – endless options for beginners, inter-

mediates and advanced riders • Total Softdeck – for durability and comfort

designed with passion for a new class of high-performance riders. Sebastian Wenzel used his “personal test team” of three sons to develop the new Ripper.

“Bringing the sensation of windsurfing to tomorrow’s hotshots is my biggest pleasure of all. Young guns are the future of our sport. With this in mind I designed the Ripper to be as easy to use as possible. We want anyone using this board to get hooked on windsurfing – just like I was over 20-yrs ago.”

Fly Wood Edition Fly HRS

A couple of seasons careful research and thorough testing in thebackground gave birth to three super Fly SUP shapes. Designedmainly with surfing performance in mind, these beautifully compactboards have waveriding rocker lines, yet their harmonic volumeplacement and plan shapes allow for super fun core workouts onflat-water and lakes. As an added bonus all three styles come withwindsurfing rig mast-positions to widen their all-round and family range of use. With two models for any level of rider and one advan-ced shape, you’ll be stoked on surfing whenever the wind fails to howl. To suit everyone’s taste we’re offering two constructions – either durable High Resistance Skin (HRS), or stylish Wood Sand-wich finishes. Both lay-ups come with snug and trusty Softdeck non-slip pads.

Fly 9' 6"Shoot down the line for a pure top-to-bottom surfing sensation. The 9'6" drives off the tail and winds up speed with a racy thruster fin set-up. Let speed be your friend with a flat section into pro-nounced Tail V for either tight pocket carving, or more powerful drawn-out lines. Although designed for more advanced riders, the fishtail shape gives both acceleration and wave-catching lift to intermediates. And thanks to our CAD-engineered volume flow and flat deck, you’ll gain stability and glide where other shorter, high-performance boards demand more balance and paddling skill. The 9' 6" is available in only our top-end Wood Sandwich Construction with Softdeck for a stylishly high-tech yet retro look.

Our exciting new SUP range is further complimented by a complete Paddle range, including a basic version for beginners, a comfort version for intermediates and a top of the line Carbon model for experienced SUP riders:

Fanatic Fly Paddle “Standard”: A top quality/value paddle with a solid alumini-um shaft, a flexible and durable plastic blade and an easy to adjust length of 170-210 cm.Fanatic Fly Paddle “comfort”: For riders looking for the ultimate in comfort, there is no better paddle – a sturdy aluminum shaft covered in soft and comfortable EVA, a light yet durable GFK blade and an easy to adjust length of 170-210cm.Fanatic Fly Paddle “carbon”: The premium model with a light and stiff carbon composite shaft and blade, comes in a standard 210 cm length and can be cut/glued to size.

Fly 10' 0"For lighter and middleweight riders, the Fly 10' 0" is perfect for first waves through to charging big surf. A classic pintail shape guarantees performance and speed, while the lower entry rocker line means you’ll never miss a wave. With a speedy flat spot in front of plenty of V in the tail, this 10-footer feels loose for vertical control and power. A tri fin cluster gives further options for drive and tracking in almost any water state. Available in either High ResistanceSkin (HRS) or high-spec Wood Sandwich Constructions – bothfeaturing Softdeck non-slip pad.

Fly 10' 6"A board for a lifetime of surfing. Heavier riders or those who want a board for all conditions will fall in love with this timeless thruster shape. Soft rails up front and sharper edges in the tail give the grip and feel of a smaller board with all the grace and glide of the ancient Hawaiians. Thanks to a flatter nose rocker and more pronounced curve in the tail, you gain easy paddling and turning ability for effortless, cruisy rides. A flat deck and volume out wide mean there’s balance and stability galore. A whole new world of fitness and adventure awaits as you explore rivers and creeks, enjoy long distance paddles, or just splashing around on your local lake. What greater way to share the joy of surfing with family, friends and be-ginners? Choose from lightweight Wood Sandwich or durable HRS constructions, with both models sporting comfy slip-free Softdeck.
