Provide Support
A 2013 Professional Development Program for the
Community Sector Workforce
This workshop provides a set of skills for delivery of services that supportfamilies in the community. This includes those working with children, youngpeople and families. It focuses on enhancing skills in assessing a range ofclient issues and examines appropriate referral pathways. It also assists
participants in defining worker and organisation boundaries and in utilising aperson centred and holistic approach. It explores the issues of safety andwellbeing of children and families and provides some insights into theeffects of trauma on families.
The Family Support Skill set includes four units of competency from theCHC08 Community Services Training Package which are listed below.These units may be used as credit towards a number of community sectorqualifications at Certificate IV level or above.
CHCCS422B Respond holistically to client issues and referappropriately
CHCCOM403A Use targeted communication skills to buildrelationships
CHCRF402B Provide intervention support to children and families
CHCCHILD403B Promote the safety, wellbeing and welfare ofchildren, young people and their families

The cost for the Skill Set (4 units combined) is $404.00 - Concessions may apply

The cost of the three day workshop includes facilitators and all resources for the Skill Set.
Following completion of the 3 day workshop and successful submission of assessment
items, participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
This program follows on from the Disability Services and Community Services SkillingPlan. The Centre for Managed Strategies is now pleased to announce this accreditedprofessional development for the community sector workforce.
