St. Anthony Catholic School Open House 9-11 A.M. Families are invited into the classrooms for a prayer service, a faith based activity, and an opportunity toshare their stories and talents with the students. Our Catholic School Council will be providing refreshments in the gym.

The school is creating a mural and posters based on the Catholic Education themes. These will be displayed in the hallways. During the Open House students and families will create their handprints and the handprints will form a circle of hands around the school.

Proclaiming the Good News“Jump Rope for Heart” in the afternoon- We are sharing Jesus’s call to be compassionate through this fun and healthy activity with the money raised going to help others in need.

All Bus/tech staff are going to work in the kitchen to prepare cookies/muffins. Corey is going to film this and make it into a funny video that we are going to post on the LCD screens during Catholic Education Week. One day at lunch, we are going to either sell or give these items (ask for donations) to the HC students and all the money raised will go to a Catholic Charity.

NCDSB Chess Tournament at the Niagara Square. There will be 192 students from the 8 Catholic high schools competing. The tournament will be held in the center atrium and runs between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Grade 9 math students will be Barbie Bungee jumping. In this activity thestudents will be creating an algebraic model to relate the distance that Barbie would fall, to the length of her bungee cord. Using their model, the students will have Barbie jump off the 2nd story railing into the atrium to see who can get Barbie as close to the ground without hitting her head!

Open House - Saint Michael will host a Canadian Citizenship Ceremony where 30 members from the local community will receive their Canadian citizenship.Special guests who have already confirmed their participation are Mayor Diodati, MPP Gates, MP Nicholson, and John Crocco. STM students from a variety of classes and grades will also attend the Citizenship Ceremony. We are also pleased to invite staff and students to reaffirm their own citizenship, alongside our newcomer Canadians.
Annual Multicultural Food Festival features over 20 countries represented within our school. Tables are displayed around the school atrium displaying food samples, flags, national flower, maps, and symbols/artifacts of the country. This well-anticipated event promotes acceptance and tolerance of the diverse cultures at Saint Michael. Through food and cultural entertainment the Saint Michael students get the opportunity to see the diversity within the school, gain awareness and learn to tolerate and accept our differences. ESL classes from across the NCDSB are also invited to attend.

Further, we will invite our Saint Paul parentcommunity and neighbors to join our staff and students for our school Mass and Open House on Wednesday. Finally, a food donation to our local food bank will be completed. The above information will be disseminated via our electronic automated phone system.

Money will be forwarded to the entrepreneurs as a loan to run their businesses.

• Saint Paul Catholic Education Week Open House: Our open house will take place in our student foyer throughout the day. We will begin our day with morning Mass for students, staff and community members at 7:30 a.m. in our Chapel.
• Following Mass each of our program departments will have a display in our student foyer highlighting their particular program area. Other notable activities will include music by our school band and music classes, displays by our Social Climate Committee and Chaplain’s Crew, as well as refreshments from our Culinary Arts department.
