Fall 2014Presentation to Academic SenateVerba Collect Requisitions
Faculty Requisitions – New Online System for Winter 15 Verba Collect will be available for
faculty/departments to submit Winter adoptions
TextReq will still be available through Winter adoption cycle
Verba Software is already a bookstore partner:pomona.verbacompare.com
Compare site online price-comparison tool
Affordable Learning Solutions project pilot program to reduce barriers to timely faculty submissions
Easier to use, intuitive, cloud-based
Better reporting capabilities & communication tools from within Collect
Why switch to Verba Collect for requisitions now:
No faculty log-ins required: Personalized links emailed to faculty based on the schedule
Intuitive prompts and online help
Easier to indicate additional materials and course-packs
Can pre-populate classes that are always ‘no text required’ if departments provide lists
New withVerba Collect:
Integrates with bookstore inventory management software
Submissions still need to be reviewed & approved before they impact orders or display to students
Faculty still do need to submit their chosen books every quarter, it won’t automatically populate new quarters
What stays the same :
What Collect will look like:
Video Demo
Walk Through Video
Collect Trailer
What we need
Updated list of department admins who need access to Collect
Time to set up training for department admins
Winter 2015 requisitions ‘priority due date’ = Oct. 17
Need majority of requisitions by Oct 29 for HEOA compliance
Affordability & Accessibility
Goal is to have complete booklist online by the registration to make it easier for students to shop (HEOA)
DRC needs info for processing alt. media requests (ATI)
Reducing student costs through online sourcing of used books, buyback, rentals, e-text matching, etc. (Affordable Learning)
