The mill is a completely integrated state of the art pulp and paper mill. The semi-chemical pulp mill has four Pandia digesters and a Chemi Washer capable of producing over 1,500 tons per day. The pulp mill is supported by a large wood handling complex, two lines of evaporators, a Recovery Boiler, and liquor making area. The recently upgraded ($10,000,000) secondary fiber area is capable of processing over 600 tons per day of double lined Kraft clippings (DLK), and old corrugated containers (OCC).

The paper mill contains two paper machines producing from 23# to 40# corrugating medium. Paper Machine 2 has a trim width of 140 inches and operates at a maximum speed of 1600 fpm. Paper Machine 4 is a one of the highest speed medium machines in the United States operating at speeds up to 3200 fpm and trimming out a 255 inches. Supporting the mill is our Power/Boiler area containing five boilers operating on various fuels including: coal, wood refuse, natural gas, and biogas. Additionally, we have two steam turbine generators and our own Hydroelectric Generation facility. Environmentally we are supported with an Anaerobic Waste Water Treatment facility, that not only processes our waste water, but also produces a rich stream of Biogas for use in the mill’s power boilers. The Biogas facility, installed in 2004 and expanded in 2006, captures approximately 800,000 cubic feet per day of green house gasses and converts them into usable energy.

Co-op basics: Interested students apply for available positions, and if offered a co-op

opportunity, register with the Co-op Office in Career Services. Co-op students earn 2 academic credits for each semester of co-op, and

are considered full-time students while on assignment. Students and employers complete evaluations during and at the end of the

assignment, and students write a technical report about their experience.
