The First panel shows information of the band and below it shows pictures of their albums and the covers of their released albums. Behind the panels you can see (although not clearly) that there is different pictures behind showing different images of the band of the band from over the years in which they have been active. The colour is in a mixture of dark and light blue. If you were a fan of the band you would know that these colours represent their first ever album they released take this to your grave (2003). You can faintly see the image of that album on the first panel of the album cover. Straight away from viewing this image you get the idea that this is a greatest hits edition due to the fact that the digipak has images of previous albums in which they have released and this is not a regular thing for artists/bands to do when releasing new material. The font used on the first panel seems to be an average font just explaining whom the band are but really this type of album is only going to appeal to people who have listened to all of their previous albums and are a fan of the band. This image shows Fall Out Boy Believers Never Die Greatest hits Bonus Edition containing the CD with bonus tracks and the DVD showing all of the music video’s of there greatest hits. The greatest hits edition has some of their best songs such as sugar were going down, Thnks Fr Th Mmrs and many more. The layout of this shows that it contains 3 panels and two of which are containing the CD’s one regular and the other bonus edition. On the CD and DVD you can see the bands name Fall Out Boy is written in a font, which is specific to this band. The band adopted this font from previous albums in which they have produced infinity on high, live in phoenix, leaked in London and folie a deux and it is what fans would recognise them with and it is a trademark to them. The CD’s are meant to look like old vinyl’s from past years and you can tell this from the colour black on the outside and faintly you can see the grooves going around the CD. As this is a greatest hits album from the band you could only really see it being targeted at one type of audience. This type of album would be aimed at fans of the Fall Out Boy and the reason being is that if you have not listened to any of their previous albums then you are not really going to go out and buy a greatest hits album without knowing anything about the band. I think that the genre of this band is quite obvious. Fall Out Boy are a rock band and if you don’t listen to them you can tell this from the image. You have got each member of the band holding an instrument on the first panel with two members of the band holding guitars, one member holding a bass and the other member holding drumsticks, which is common in all rock bands. Another way in which you can tell they are a rock band, although stereotypical is through their

hair. You can see that each member in the band has long styled hair and this is something that is also common in most rock bands. Although most people would only buy this if they were fans of the band, but if you didn’t know anything about them then I think that you would know what you would get from the band. They look like a band that has songs, which contain catchy riffs, rather than a heavy metal band, which scream and have a loud distorted sound. In my opinion, being a fan of the band, I feel that it is successful and the reason being that you know what you are going to get. This reason for this is because as it is a greatest hits album you know that it is going to be the best songs from what the band has produced over the years. Commercially though I don’t think that it would be that successful and the reason being is that it would only really appeal to fans of the band and if you were not a fan then chances are you would not buy this album and it would have no interest to you.
