We’re Glad You’re Here! We invite all worshipers to sign the red Friendship Pad that is at the end of each pew and pass it down your row. Prayer requests may be listed on the yellow pew cards. Pass them to the inside aisle for collection during the first hymn.
Is This Your First Visit with Us? Ushers can provide large print hymnals and hearing devices. Ask for a Kid’s Pack and Children’s Bulletin as well as directions to the Nursery, or to our Family Room in the balcony.
Coffee & Conversation All are welcome to the Fellowship Hall (directly below the Sanctuary) at 10:30am every Sunday between services, to get to know each other in a casual setting.
Remember with Prayers Each week in worship and in our church staff meetings we lift up the prayer requests that are submitted. You may also contact the church office with your prayer requests.

we will explore questions that you may have wondered about Lent, like: Why don't we use the word Alleluia in worship during Lent? Why is Lent 40 days? What are we supposed to do during Lent? We will also prepare the ashes to be used for Ash Wednesday. We will make ashes by burning the palms left over from last year’s Palm Sunday worship. Questions? Contact Pastor Devon [email protected].

Confirmation Confirmation is a time in the life of the church where we
prepare our young people to become professing
members of Fairlington United Methodist Church. It is a
time of learning, reflection and prayer. Each young
person moving through the process of Confirmation is
matched with a Mentor who will guide the young person
through the program, share their faith, and role model
Christ-like living. The following young people will be
part of our Confirmation group this year. You are invited
to pray for these persons, asking God to be present
with them.

FUMC’s General Conference study group is reviewing different plans that the General Conference (GC), our denomination's worldwide legislative body, will consider in May 2020 regarding the future of the United Methodist Church, including potential separation into more than one faith expression. If you have questions about what is going to be presented at General Conference please email [email protected] or speak to one of the study group members: Mark Elder (General Conference
delegate and FUMC Staff Parish member), Pastor Janine Howard; Pastor Devon Earle; Janese Bechtol, Lay Leader; Anne Wilson, Council Chair; Karen Winzenburg, Trustee; Jennifer Ayers, Finance; Andrew Hunter, Ann Murdoch, Meghan Castner, and Jessai Canaday. You can also find information on vaumc.org/SeparationAgreement.

In the wilderness, water brings life. Seek us out, O God, and take us to the water. In the word of God, the good news gives light. Seek us out, O God, and fill us with understanding. In the bread and the wine, the body of our Savior nourishes everyone. Seek us out, O God, and give us yourself. Here is the water of life, the word that feeds, the food of eternity. Come and praise the vine that gives all goodness
