The objectives of this macro is to facilitate the creation of control points from a 3D models in order to allow product acceptance in a CATIA Authority context for Companies or people not yet CATIA V5 capable for inspection activities (back-up solution).

This process should also ease the qualification of specific Product.

Objectif

• The utility run from CATIA V5R16.• The utility run on Windows XP.

Generalities

• File open

Open CATPart

• Double click on the executable

Start application

• Extract Normal utility will open

• Extract Normal Line

• Export points to text file

• Reload utility for new CATPart

• Help File html

• Double click on point function to keep panel

Activate point function

• Active fine dynamique positing

• Point type: On surface should be activate

• Create points on selected surfaces

Create points

• Click on Extract Normal button

Create automatique line

• Create line normal to surface

• Default value is 10mm

• The utility create MD_GEO_SET (Geometrical set) and insert all geometries in it

• Click on Export normal line into text file

Export Normal to a text file

Automatic exportation of the start points coordinates (X, Y, Z) and corresponding normal coordinates (I, J, K) in a formatted text file.

Selecting an axis

By default, coordinates calculated in the CATIA part basic axis system (Absolute Axis System)Selection of another axis system shall be possible before coordinates exportation

If you select yes, select a CATIA system axis

If you select NO, it will computer the coordinate from the Absolute Axis System

Text File formatting

The file is save into “C:\temp” fileThe name of the file is the same as your CATIA file without the extension CATPart.
