For the visitors from around the world

a homestay is run under a matching

program managed by the Yeosu city

government. 130 homes participated

with most of hosts speaking English.

Fees for a homestay are nominal-25

dollars (30,000won) per night including

breakfast for an adult. A room with

a bed is provided. Bathrooms, kitchens

and basic electronic equipment are

shared.

Guests can apply for homestay online

at the website of the Yeosu city go-

vernment (http://goo.gl/LXaOg) or

by calling the Association of Yeosu

Homestay (061-921-3233). The asso-

ciation provides English, Japanese

and Chinese services for reservation,

as well as Korean.

Foreign guests are expected to learn

the lifestyle of Koreans through a

homestay, while the Korean hosts

can meet people from different

cultures.

The Expo Digital Gallery (EDG)

which is one of the thematic facilities

is getting a fervent response by

visitors. Located along the central

part of the Expo site, a huge 6.54

megapixel LED screen is 218 metersin length and 30 meters in height.

Walking along the gallery below the

ceiling, visitors can watch videos of

several Asian tales represented with

state-of-the art IT technology. In

particular, A Tribute to Shin-ji-ke

Yeo Mermaid, made by French

director Charles de Meaux, is a high-quality feature film utilizing 3D

holographic sound system for the

first time in Korea.

Visitors can also send their own photo

to the gallery through smart phones

then it represents on a gallery screen

in the shape of A Dreaming Whale.

This enables visitors to experience an

open communication with each other.

Pavilions hosted by domestic corporations include seven Corporate Pavilions, namely Hyundai Motor Group,

Samsung, SK, LG, GS Caltex, LOTTE and POSCO pavilions. All of the corporations are engaged in a friendly

competition vying over the number of visitors and who will receive the best reactions.

Each corporate spares no effort in presenting its future vision to visitors as well as providing exciting spectacles

with state-of-the-art technology. Visitors have only to enjoy the beautiful competition.

Here are the exhibition concepts and contents of the Hyundai Motor Group and Samsung Pavilions.

pavilion on the second floor provides dynamic images

grand scale will excite visitors.

Hyundai Motor Group Pavilion offers a variety of per-

well-made and exciting events. During May, a total of

240 performances have been offered to visitors in addition

to the exhibition contents of the Hyundai Motor Group

Pavilion.

The main concept of the Hyundai Motor Group Pavilion is

"Creating a Better Future with Humankind" by expressing

the vision of the company. Inside the Pavilion, a history

of automobile models produced by Hyundai Motor Group

With the theme of "Corporate Responsibility and Efforts

for the Environment," Samsung Pavilion celebrates sophisti-

cated and well-refined performance. The connecting space

that takes visitors to the third floor by escalator also presents

images and graphics to visitors that highlight risks and

threats to the Earth. When visitors stand up in the multimedia

theatres on the second and third floors, they will spot afantastic multimedia image show, incorporating images

and performance, which highlights efforts to save the

Earth from crisis.

You can also store your heavy bags or valuables.

Charge it for free at U-service center inside the information center or at 1st floor of International Pavilion Block B.

If you have lost something important,

Go to the lost-and-found at the 1st floor of International Pavilion Block B.

If you get thirsty,

Find drinking water fountains near every food court.

If you want to enjoy tour spots outside of the Expo site,

Go downtown by intra-buses which are operated for free during the Expo. Find city-touring information

Lets Feel the K-pop Fever in Yeosu

Notice

Excitement of K-pop, which continues to grow in global

popularity, shows up at the Yeosu Expo. Many leading

K-pop stars of the global Korean Wave, such as Super

Junior, Shinee, Beast, 2 PM and Wonder Girls, will visit

the Expo to perform.

A total of 20 teams will perform at the floating stage in

the Big-O every week throughout the 93-day Expo period.

The concert on June 15 will feature the indie band Busker

Busker whose song Night Sea in Yeosu have been a

huge hit lately.

Not only famous Korean singers, but John Legend, world-

renowned American R&B singer had already performed

on stage. Ensemble Ditto, a Korean chamber ensemble,and many other world famous musicians, including Mason

Bates, an American composer and DJ, will also perform.

Further information on the cultural performances at the

Expo is available at the Yeosu Expo website (eng.expo

2012.kr). All the concerts are free to visitors who enter

the Expo site with tickets.
