The Great Wall at Mutianyu is a particularsection of the Great Wall that connects theJiankou Great Wall section in the east andthe Baima Pass section in the west. It islocated in Huairou County, 70 km northeastof central Beijing. The Mutianyu Great Wallwas first built in the Northern Qi Dynasty in(550–577) over 1,400 years ago and a fewsection of it was later restored in 1986. It isless crowded and has better architecture. Togo up the wall, there are options of -trekking, or cable car(in case you do notwant to walk). It is advisable to carry snacksand water if you want to walk a long portionof the wall.
2 Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)

The Summer Palace is a popular royalgarden and tourist attraction in China. Thegarden came into existence in the 1750s andwas once the summer resort for theemperors. The palace features a number ofarchitecturally distinct buildings, halls,pavilions, bridges and corridors dispersedamong the elegant gardens. The palacecovers an area of 2.9 square kilometers,three-quarters of which is water. The palaceis divided into four areas: the Court Area,Front Hill Area, Rear Hill Area and Lake Area.
The East Palace Gate of the palace opensinto the Court Area. The front hill area hasthe maximum constructions. The lake areacovers the most part of the palace andcovers major attractions like Seventeen-ArchBridge, Bronze Ox, Nanhu Island, Hall ofEmbracing the Universe, Spacious Pavilion,Pavilion of Bright Scenery, Marble Boat,Suzhou Market Street, etc. As compared tothe Front Hill Area, the rear hill area is quite.There are less number of constructionshere, so the landscape is more attractiveand serene here.
3 Temple of Heaven (TiantanPark)

The Temple of Heaven is a historicalreligious building which was initially theworship place for emperors of the MingDynasty (1368 - 1644) and Qing Dynasty(1644 - 1911). It is the only section in Beijingthat was built through a lake. It is quitepopular among hikers as the path is steepand thus becomes more challenging. It issurrounded by mountains with lushgreenery. Some section of Huanghuachengwall is even immersed in the water, whichdistinguishing it from the other.

The Jiankou Great Wall is the wildest andsecluded yet the most picturesque sectionof Great Wall. It is located at Xizhaizi Village,30 km from Huairou District and 70 km fromBeijing.
