EXCHANGE STUDIESTake the right track - study at Mälardalen University

Page 2: Exchange studies - Mälardalen University

”After Swedish and Scandinavian studies in France I really wanted to

continue my studies in Sweden. Sweden is of course the right place to

learn Swedish, but also to improve your English. MDH was my teacher’s

suggestion and it has turned out to be a good one! The teachers here

are very competent, but also really nice. The places are so clean and

peaceful and at the same time, everything is possible here!

The Swedes are really into technology. We need a password or a code

for almost everything and we have to give back all our homework via

the computer! And when I ask Swedish people to help me with it, they

look at me like they think that in my country we are still living in the

past, haha.

Student life here is very active and there are a lot of student facilities.

I’m a cheerleader, I’m in a musical theater group, in the hiking club

and I go to the knitting café at the university. Five years from now I see

myself backpacking around the world!”

”Everything is possible here”

MÄLARDALEN UNIVERSITYMälardalen University (MDH) is a medium-sized,

Swedish university. We have some 13,000 students

and offer approximately 55 study programmes,

both at Master’s and Bachelor’s levels. Moreover,

we offer 10 Master’s programmes and 2 Bachelor’s

programmes as well as some 150 courses which are

entirely taught in English. The subjects taught at

MDH range from engineering and the natural, social

and behavioural sciences, to the humanities and the

caring sciences.

MODERN CAMPUSES AT THE RIGHT PLACESMDH has two campuses, one in Västerås and the other

one in Eskilstuna, two cities that are about 35 minu-

tes apart. Both cities are situated in the very heart

of Sweden, about one hour from Stockholm, the

capital of Sweden. And you know what, we offer

free bus rides between our two campus cities!

The campuses feature some of the most modern

university buildings in Sweden, centrally situated

with well-equipped classrooms, plenty of computers

for students, libraries, and laboratories.

APPLICATION PROCESSThe application process can be divided into five

parts:

1. Nomination. The international coordinator at the

partner university sends an official nomination

to MDH.

2. Confirmation. The international coordinator at

MDH will officially accept/decline the nomina-

tion.

3. Online application. Along with the confirmation

you will receive information on how to submit

an application. A complete application should

contain the following documents in pdf format:

a. Signed and stamped application

b. Transcript of records (including all grades

from your bachelor/master education and

registration for ongoing courses)

c. Learning agreement

d. Passport photo

e. CV

4. Assessment. Your application will be assessed by

the international coordinator in charge of your

application. Keep an eye open for any emails sent

to you by the coordinator.

and any potential changes are agreed upon, a let-

ter of admission will be issued.
