• Evie school is about
15 miles from Kirkwall
(Orkney's capital) and
about 16 miles from
Stromness where
children go to the
academy.
• The school has three classrooms, four including nursery.
• In the school there are 54 people in the school in including nursery.
• We have a library, a large hall with a stage(also used for dining,) a kitchen, a community room and a staff room.
• There is a large playground, with 2 pitches a smaller one which is more commonly used and a bigger one with is used for things such as: sporting event for the school, running around etc.
• The school covers the large area of Rendall, Costa and of course Evie.
• We have a large play park with lots of equipment that
children use at break times.
• There is also a forest with trees and bushes that is used
by children at break time.
• There is also 2 pitches a smaller one which is more
commonly used and a bigger one with is used for things
such as: sporting event for the school, running around
etc..
There is the small pitch, tennis court, wild garden, forest in play park, the big pitch and the nursery area

There is also four other teachers that
come in for Music, art, P.E and fiddle.
The teacher for music is Mr Miller. The
art teacher is Ms Thompson. The P.E
teacher is Mrs Smith. Also the fiddle
teacher Mrs Griffith.
• In Mr Flett’s class there is 18 pupils from primary’s 1and
2.
• In Mrs Scott’s class there are 19 pupils from primary 3, 4
and 5.
• In Miss Rendall and Mrs McCairn there are 13 in the
class from primary 6 and 7.
• The pupil council meet every second week to discuss the
school and how we could improve it. The eco committee
meet every other week to discuss eco matters in the
school and out. The eco committee have won quite a lot
of awards.
• In the hall many activities such as: netball, P.E, lunch and
any plays and services. The hall is also used by the
community and link centre.
• In the school we use the community room for assembly
and music. The community room is also used by the
community.
• In the school we have a netball team and a football team.
The football team meet on a Monday six o’clock to seven
o’clock. The netball team meet on a Monday every
second week then on a Wednesday every other week.
• One of our achievements is winning the shore shield
which the football team put a lot of work into getting. We
also have proud board which was so full of great
achievements that the head teacher had to take some
down. There was also a wave device competition which
P5/6/7 did really well in and the p6’s that went to
Glasgow represented our school really well.
