What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I began my project by researching other existing music magazines so that I could get a feel of the generic conventions and layout of a successful magazine.

For this I used Google which provided me with plenty of magazine examples

which were beneficial to the research stage of my product.

Using Prezi I was able to create a useful mindmap

regarding the target audience of my magazine.

I found this resource to be incredibly useful and easy to use

as templates are suggested to you

Before i could begin to create my magazine I

needed to collect audience feedback and usefull

infomation and opinions about my target audience.

In order for me to create a servey to send out to my audience i used the website servey monkey.

This allowed me to easily create a questionnaire which included both open and closed questions.

The process of creating this servey was easy and

simple allowing me to spend more time on the analysis of the results.

Once I had created my survey the software allowed

After collecting and analysing audience

feedback, began to plan my magazine including

features which were proven popular in my

questionnaires. I began to plan out the layout of my

magazine using and following typical codes and

conventions of a typical magazine of my genre

To make my plan I used publisher tools such as text

boxes

And shapes to create that format that i want to use

for my magazine

This finished plan helped me greatly

when creating my final magazine

The next stage of my project was taking a photo

shoot of the model that I would use on the cover of

my magazine.

For this I used a camera...

Tripod...

And musical props

I took a range of photos which I was able to use

throughout my magazine

After taking photos I used photo editing software to

edit the photos so that they fitted with the pages of

my magazine and the genre

As well as this I used publisher picture tools to edit

the colouring of my photos

For example I edited this photo so that it was in

black and white and also edited out the background

so that it fit with the style of the double page spread

and was more conventional

I edited out the background of the door by using the

Blur tool in photoshop

I again used the Photoshop picture tools to edit the

contrast on the cover photo of my magazine

In order to use more effective font choices i used a

website called Da Font which enabled me to pick

from hundreds of fonts

The website also allowed me to search for a theme

of a font, I therefore was able to search ‘Grunge’

This brought up many fonts which were suitable for

the use within my magazine

In order to use the fonts I used the ‘Print Screen’ key

on the keyboard

As well as Fireworks Macromedia to crop my font

I used ‘Grunge’ fonts from this

website for all of the features of my

magazine

I used blogger to upload my project in sections

throughout the process

This was an effective and beneficial tool as it also

allowed me to look up statistics and receive

comments on my work

a range of different formats including:
