Evaluation Activity 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Blogger is the website we used to make our blogs, put up posts, videos, pictures . It also enabled us to view our teacher’s blog which was available to my whole class which gave us tips and deadlines. I have learnt how to create and keep my blog up to date. Each blog contains evidence of where I upload many pictures and anything that is relevant to my project. They are in date order.

Blogger

iMovie

Websites/programs we used:

We used Mac computers for the editing process of our product, this is professionally used and enabled us access to many effects and tools to precisely edit and add titles to our sequence.

This is a screen shot of me posting onto blogger, I learnt how to construct posts and edit them after if I felt they need updating or adjusting.

This is evidence from a screenshot of my editing process on iMovie. We learnt many skills with editing over the task process. I am now able to import and export clips, add text and music and precisely edit a film.

The ‘ Art of the Title’ is a great website which allows us to browse many different film openings. It helped me decided the order in which to add in my titles and what order is generally used. I looked at Opening sequence, Night watch. Which I took inspiration and created a timeline to get an idea about the ordering of titles in my own sequence, as this is a skill I did not have.

Researching:

Process: Adobe After Effects

Adobe After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application developed by Adobe and used in the post-production process of filmmaking and television production. Among other things, After Effects can be used for keying, tracking, compositing and animationAfter effects was the program we used to produce out Production logo/Intro.I made a few other draft ideas with different effects before posting it to my blog. I feel this was a successful program to use once I had learnt the appropriate stills. I also feel it gave our production company a realistic and professional look.

I have frequently used YouTube during the course, as it is so diverse, it has allowed me to also view different film openings, music tracks, production companies and past students media product. We uploaded our opening to YouTube, to make it easily accessible for our audience and therefore we are able to receive feedback for our evaluation purposes.

After uploading our final opening to YouTube, we all decided we wanted to share our film opening with family and friends, with the aim to collect a widespread opinion and feedback for evaluation purposes. We used websites such as Facebook, which we all posted a link to friends which resulted in much feedback, many liked the post and shared our link to their friends. Exposing our opening to an even wider audience.

Websites/programs we used:

I also wanted to use popular picture posting app, Instagram, and decided to post a screen grab with the link to our opening to my personal followers. Many liked the posted and people were able to comment their thoughts after having watched the video on YouTube.

Uploading using YouTube was simple and easy!

Camera: Canon 700 D We used my camera and scarlet's to film our opening, this allowed us to film in higher quality and record footage at the same time. This sped up our filming time and allowed us to easily meet deadlines, sticking to our arranged filming dates.

Tripod

We borrowed 2 tripods from school to be able to achieve smooth and steady filming. We were able to connect our cameras securely to this and film without holding the camera the whole time. This was partially useful for the performance scenes as there were many outtakes and lots of footage to record. Extendable legs, helped us film at our

desired height.

This is me learning the camera techniques for filming, This camera was easy to use. With simple and smooth zooming ability and an attachment for the tripod.
