The seminar fee for each participant is Euro 300; it includes all accommodation and transport services (starting from Bonn to Berlin) as well as meals (half-board at the minimum). Upon request a contribution to the travel costs for the journey to Bonn and from Berlin can be paid by the Bundeswehr Academy for Information and Communication.

Our Objective

The EUROPEAN Seminar is a public information event on security policy issues staged by the Federal Ministry of Defense. It brings together budding young German and European executives from the science community, the business sector and politics in order to give them a better understanding of the objectives of the security policy pursued by the Federal Republic of Germany and Europe as well as of the modern Bundeswehr.

What is Offered during the Seminar?

High-level rounds of discussion at the nerve centers of security policy, an international list of speakers and shifting viewpoints all promise a rich and diverse forum for communication and information.

The seminar locations include Bonn, Geilenkirchen, Brunssum, Brussels and Berlin.

The contents of the program may include:

Participation, Application and Contact

The European Seminar takes place annually in September. It is intended for young executives from the science community, industry and politics aged between 25 and 40 years. It offers up to 30 partici-pants from Europe and Germany the opportunity for self-improvement and an exchange of information. The civilian participants should be university graduates who already have gained some experience in executive or challenging positions.If you are interested in our offer, please submit your application electronically in the English language, enclosing a motivational letter, your curriculum vitae and a recent photograph by the end of June to

Selection

The Bundeswehr Academy for Information and Communication will select the participants from among all applications received.

During the nine-day program, the participants experience a dialogue on opportunities, challenges and common values – in spite of different cultural perspectives. The focus of the dialogue is on the common, secure Europe as the unifying theme. In addition to the introduction of the host country Germany, special emphasis is placed on aspects of the evolving security policy and European politics as well as on the progressing European integration.
