Executive Board Report Dear AAI members, We are pleased to provide you with this report on our activities since the July 2017 AAI Congress in Cartagena, Colombia. This report differs a bit from the last reports as we do enlarge the usual report seamlessly with our Strategy Presentation that has been elaborated during the last months and will guide us through 2018. It is built up and following our 10 Key Principles that had been introduced and aligned during AAIC 2017 in Cartagena and onwards. SUMMARY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS Over the past year, the AAI Executive Board and Management Team together with our global RAA and NAA leadership invested many hours of individual voluntary work, meetings and conference calls, project collaboration and conference participation to move our association forward. Below we will highlight areas and topics that are as well dealt with in detail during the presentation. Especially during the first 6 months we have been running various Task Forces with contributing from TF-Members from all around the globe, following our Key Principle No. 10.

• TF on Vision 2020+ and Value Proposition: This global TF lead by Martin Branchi with the support of David Epstein is has been started immediately after AAIC and has delivered its output during the New Year. Our strategy is building up on the Transformation Project and its learnings, basing on our Key principles that found agreement during AAIC and developing further to a new global strategically positioning. All regions had appointed their representatives contributing to this TF and some decided Strategic activities are based on the output and discussion from this Group of highly committed Alumni.

• TF on Platform / AlumNet V2: Based on the key learnings from the assumptions that have led to AlumNet V1 and the platforms’ performance through the last years, the aim of this TF was to analyze, consolidate and define the correct strategy based on today’s needs of our global community. Core competent representatives from all regions have delivered under the lead of AAI-EB member Beatrice Pesci a very comprehensive Whitepaper, comprising various possible scenarios and benchmarks that have been discussed. A shortlist of options has been identified to move forward. Based on this Report that

was handed over as a mandate to AAI-EB, the decision was taken to contract with Connexa and the Migration Project to establish AlumNet V2 has been started already.

• TF “Think Big” on fundraising: Following the invitation of our highly respected Alumnus Lionel Simons during AAIC 2017 and seconded by our highly two respected Alumni Patricia Ralston and Haruo Kano this TF had been established to support our global association in raising funds large scale. The aim has been and still is to generate concrete ideas and support that will help to assure financial sustainability for AIESEC Alumni.

• TF on integrated & organizational membership: This TF lead by AAE-President Peter Mandl had already started its work before IPM 2017 in Venlo, where first output has already been reviewed and discussed. The TF has concluded in November 2017 with a whitepaper as an output document that has already been discussed further with AAI-EB during IPM in Bucharest and with the Regional Presidents. The future options that are highlighted in this paper will be a cornerstone of the potential future development of AA on a global scale, we do still need discussions on various levels, to guarantee a structure that is feasible and adding value to AA in the targeted way. We planned to continue these discussions and bring it to a broader audience during upcoming AAIC in Hurghada.

• TF on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): By May 25th 2018 new strict regulations on data privacy protection have become effective, applicable to all companies, institutions and associations that hold personal data of all EU citizens. As AAI is officially legally registered in Brussels / Belgium the new rules are as well applicable to us. Together with AI we have been working on the matters and are best possibly prepared. The new platform AlumNet V2 is also fully compliant to GDPR, one of the loads of reasons why we are undertaking the needed migration.

• TF on AIESEC History: A TF has been formed on top of existing initiatives of AI around the “70th” topic, consisting of some 20 members. Carsten Tonn, Alumni Hall of Famer and AAG-EB member, had the great idea that it would be awesome to bring together two senior friends and very important personalities of the AIESEC founding years, Jean Choplin and the founder of AIESEC Germany Dr. Albert Kaltenthaler and to discuss the findings and documents researched by Alexander Flieger. The ideal place and time to do so was found quickly: the national conference of youth AIESEC in the middle of Germany taking place in the beginning of October 2017. Everything is brought down to paper and best possibly released in a final version during 70th anniversary of AIESEC at IC 2018 in Hurghada/Egypt.

• TF on joint Corporate Development together with AI:

After the agreements that have been signed during the past years between AI and AAI the aim of this TF is to develop the written commitments into practical corporate reality. A joint AIESEC offer to its corporate stakeholders is the goal to be achieved and currently developed between the responsible of AAI and AI EBs. Quite some external stakeholders (i.e. companies) have shown interest in relating with both key stakeholders of AIESECs’ global movement – Youth AIESEC and AIESEC Alumni- for a joint offer to the corporate environment. A more detailed and practicable Memorandum of Understanding was discussed and signed during IPM in Romania between AI and AAI. As well during this president meeting AAI got awarded by AI for continuing to champion the values and mission of our global organization.

• TF on legal venue of AAI: Similar to AI moving its HQ during summer 2018, AAI is as currently undertaking a due diligence of its official legal venue in Brussels/Belgium. The aim is clear: reduce bureaucracy for AAI and cutting cost wherever possible. The procedure AI has been using to come to its conclusion is been used by AAI to maximize efficiency in the pitch of future options.

• TF on global AIESEC Branding: Designing One global integrated AIESEC offer to its corporate stakeholders is the aim of this TF, elaborating on the most powerful branding for our global family. The main point for discussion is how to add value and power (and thus impact) without diluting the brand and the identity of its two key stakeholders (Youth and Alumni). This TF continues its work during SG meetings, IPM and upcoming IC. On top of the above accomplishments within the global task forces, we achieved to:

• Strengthen the cooperation with the Regions and establish regular monthly updates with the Regional Presidents.

• Foster the Support for NAA development and continuing to sign cooperation

agreements for mutual benefit with various NAAs.

• Continue the development of our Signature Programmes to highlight the A-Groups with our Regional Programme Director Liv Flores in AP.

• Build a very strong MarComm team lead by AAI-EB member Mariel Rivera

Flores, creating a powerful communication strategy, including all our communication channels and a new strong in-kind partnership with the cutting edge Digital Marketing Agency Spicy Minds based in Mexico City.

CHALLENGES Our biggest challenge is still achieving financial sustainability. We are in a continued process to achieve this objective which is obviously the base for all other activities. With the launch of AlumNet 2.0, we plan to materialize fully on the three main revenue streams: Membership fees through the integrated membership model, programs provided through AlumNet and donations/sponsorships through banners, adverts and similar. All forces are needed: NAAs to sign and execute the integrated membership model, each Alumnus and every Alumna to find and use the programs and identify potential business partners. This is the path to financial sustainability. We build on the commitment of each NAA and the alumni community around the globe, this is our only chance to survive. 2018 PRIORITIES Our top priorities for the next months are as follows:

• Continue our work to achieve financial sustainability to survive. During the whole year we have undertaken various activities to enable the financial surviving of AAI, still with disappointing results.

We took following action:

• Ran various activities to increase membership • Organized a LifeTime Membership campaign • Ran Campaigns to churn existing registrants (+20.000) to members • Used various Communication Channels to promote the campaigns • Followed up with donors throughout the months on different

occasions • Ran tailor-made individual Fundraising Campaigns • Tried to re-engage with former Sponsors and reaching out for new

sponsors

• Continue the development of our Global Platform through AlumNet 2.0. We have to organize and engage our global online community and with our new agreement we could open new revenue streams that shall be a vital part for the financial sustainability of AA.

• Continue the strong support for NAA and RAA, implementation of Integrated Organization & Membership. We want to continue the strong partnering with RAAs and NAAs and take this cooperation onto the next level.

• Keeping Up the strong cooperation with Youth AIESEC. The last months and years have shown that the churn into a real global movement can only be

realized and impact maximized if its two key stakeholders Youth AIESEC and AIESEC Alumni are partnering best possibly for mutual benefit.

• „Enable Leaders To Enhance Their Impact“ has been identified during AAIC 2017 as our maxime and Leadership is still our Key Value Proposition.

• Continuing to build our value proposition through signature programs. Fostering our existing Signature Programmes on global scale and creating new Programmes satisfying the needs of our NAAs, is our key to success.

We are deeply grateful to all alumni leaders around the world for the steadfast support they have been showing, our Advisory Board that is continuously at hand with needed support and to all the volunteers who have committed themselves to advancing the execution of our shared vision. We are still fighting hard to survive for being able to serve you best as your global leadership body and we are still heaps away from being able to call AA “financial sustainable”. We, all together, do have it in our hands to reach this common important goal. Now. Yours truly Alexander Tichy President AIESEC Alumni International, On behalf of the Executive Board 2017/18

Deployed through AlumNet

Global Business Exchange (GBE) Online marketplace where alumni-run businesses can offer their products and services to the network and create global business opportunit ies. This could range from market research and consult ing, to help with distribut ion channel development or business partner select ion in another country. Global Job Market (GJE) AIESEC alumni are talented internationalists, entrepreneurs and business executives, who are of high interest to corporat ions and NGOs. The Global Job Exchange will provide an online job market where talent and career opportunit ies come together.

Global Meet-Ups Looking to connect with alumni during international business trips or vacation travel? AlumNet will allow you to search for people with similar careers and interests, and connect with them socially while you are traveling abroad.

ALUMnite Events bring together alumni, sometimes also AIESECers and trainees, in cit ies around the world. Ranging from casual get-togethers in restaurants and homes to social gatherings with speakers, we connect on so many levels. Many cit ies have monthly social events, some do company and school visits. Ski trips, picnics and cruises have all brought alumni together again.

A-Groups are groups of 10 to 14 AIESEC alumni who become a trusted advisory board for each other. Advice – career advice, input on dealing with team challenges, mentoring, industry knowledge – these are needs that professionals require for their development as leaders. Members meet 6-8 t imes per year, building a t ight group that discusses a range of topics. These deep friendships are usually diverse in order to generate different viewpoints and perspectives. The program started in 2010 and exists in several countries. We plan to expand the program.

ISUM (Internat ional Startup Meet ings) As AIESECers, we all learned to take init iat ive. For some alumni, this led to founding their own businesses. International Startup Meetings bring together entrepreneurs, investors and professionals together for education, networking and funding. Aspiring to build global businesses, ISUM attendees create networks that cross cultues and geographies. The first five ISUM meetings have successfully created new partnerships and business opportunit ies, and there are many more in our future. Next ISUM is July 3rd, 2018 in Lisbon Portugal.

Alumni Internship Referral (AIR) Program The AIR program is a joint strategic init iat ive of AI and AAI in support of the Global Internship Program (GIP). Alumni appreciate the value of AIESEC interns and can potentially take thousands of AIESEC interns every year. In addit ion, alumni understand the needs and communication of their companies and industries and can be a source of referrals for qualified leads. We have a unique way to truly support AIESEC and its mission on a global scale, by serving as brand advocates.

Planned AAI Programs to be implemented Alumni support to Y4GG & SDGs (name tbd) There are different initiatives to contribute to the SDGs and one of them is to support young people around the world who don't have the resources to go in exchange with AIESEC. So there are ideas that a group of Alumni from 2 or more countries create a small fund to support students to go and volunteer for specific SDGs through an AIESEC exchange.

Alumni talks Idea to replicate Alumni talks that took place in AAIC 2017 (as in a TED format) around the world

Alumni Global Family (name tbd) is a chance for Alumni families to host Alumni children giving them an extraordinary intercultural learning opportunity and a unique life experience. The Alumni Global Family Program allows Alumni and their children to learn about a new culture and share their own culture and values to contribute towards peace, international understanding and the creation of young global citizens.

Strategic Chal lenges

Together with a global Taskforce run with AIESEC Internat ional (AI), we are making sure that our systems comply with GDPR that will become effect ive end of April 2018. Together with our partner Connexa, we made sure that the new version AlumNet 2.0 is fully compliant with GDPR.

Within an second, stand alone TaskForce, we are assessing the legal venue of AAI. Belgium is subopt imal due to various reasons (bureaucracy, tax, cost), so a different legal venue is explored, following the procedure AI was undertaking to find the best possible proposal.

A third Taskforce has been spending more than a year in assessing the opt ion of developing our current individual membership into an organizat ional membership, aiming to establish a sustainable and more professional organizat ional set-up of AAI.

Financial Sustainabil ity

Following Revenue Streams are input to our financial planning:

● Membership Fees: Either direct ly with AAI or through the NAAs/RAAs. The main relevance to our associat ion shall come from its members. Ideally, through our global plat form AlumNet, we are engaging with Global Alumni and churning them from registrants to members.

● Income through AlumNet: various possibilit ies (e.g. banner Ads etc.) are reviewed together with our partner Connexa.

● Donat ions: donat ions as such or as well by buying a Lifet ime membership are st ill key. ● Sponsorships, Partnerships, Strategic Alliances: AAI is open for engaging with corporate stakeholders.

A joint offer with AI is also an opt ion.
