CBI Europe has participated in the construction of the AquaticPalace for the First European Games, designed by PujolArquitectura in Barcelona: a success which was created witha mix of perfect customized products, backed by a precise timeschedule and constant technical supervision on site.

Pujol Studio’s request was to provide ceiling and wall systems, which had a high performance: antisismic ceilings,

resistant to corrosion, wall and ceiling systems with high sound absorption, in correspondence to the dimensio-

nal design of Pujol Studio, and in accordance with CE specifications and regulations.

CBI Europe has made its know-how available to the Studio by taking on the responsibility of the project, in addition

to the production of the materials, according to the required specifications, by performing site surveys and overse-

eing the installation. The proposed technical solution has made it possible to drastically reduce the assembly times,

thanks to the supply of modules, which are already fully assembled and easy to install. CBI Europe’s concerns were

concentrated on the production, as well as having very short start-up times of production of each customized piece;

more than 500 different measurements for the walls, and 150 for the ceiling.

The renovation of the Palace of Culture and Sports in the Bulgarian Black Sea, capi-

tal of Varna, has been completed and the venue is ready to host the matches of the

World Volleyball League. CBI Europe saw to the project in the installation of the

stands’ and the access areas’ panelling, according to the strict schedule of the spor-

ting events scheduled.

In the first technical meeting, which took place in December 2014, in Monaco, the re-

quests of the client were received, in other words, the installation of wall and ceiling

systems with high performance in terms of:

> Fire resistance of the materials;

> Acoustic performance of the walls;

> Dimensional correspondence to the project;

> Correspondence to the specifications and regulations of CE.

Just a single technical inspection on site, on March 26, allowed the technical team from

CBI Europe to check and process all of the technical problems, so the best constructive

solution for the walls of the building could be found, proposing a modular system, which

is highly functional and quick to install, respecting the installation times requested.

CBI Europe’s product flexibility, supported by the versatility of the production depar-

tment, has allowed us to customize certain processes according to the specifications re-

ceived, with no interruption in supply.

The Italian Green Building Council is the Italian association for construction sector

companies intent on making buildings more environment friendly, sustainable and ca-

pable of supporting living communities. The members of GBC Italy promote environ-

mental, economic and social sustainability through innovation in design, construction

and use of buildings. In addition to handeling LEED certification activities, GBC Italy

also promotes the development of a ’knowledge supply chain’ to diffuse new ideas,

concepts and tools, and to raise awareness in the area of sustainability.MEMBER ISO 9001:2008.

CBI EUROPE, COMMITMENT TOWARDS QUALITY.

CBI Europe’s Fully Steel Encapsulated Panels have a wood agglomerate orcalcium sulphate core and are completely encased in 0.5 mm galvanised steel sheet

for maximum load and humidity resistance and electrical conductivity. Their re-

duced thickness (31 mm) means a lower finished floor height while their light weight

minimises transport costs and facilitates handling and movement on site.

Providing access to the plenum directly or through the hatch, bare panels are the

ideal solution for buildings approved to be delivered to the client before the project

is as complete: the panel may in fact be covered after the installation on site, choo-

sing from any of our finishes of which appease to the client.

GENESY: AESTHETICS, RELIABILITY AND FUNCTIONALITY PARTITION SYSTEM

Created to provide quality, style and design; easy to install, move and modify. Never

ending research in design and materials generates a harmonious style for people who

are looking for quality, affordability and elegance.

Genesy wall partition systems enable you to create environments that are soundproof,

yet elegant and modern. External aluminium finishes as well as perforated and plain

panels give the environment a new style, as each designer wants, be it for public or

private offices, banks, conference rooms, executive offices, ect.

The work and representative environments of Qatar Petroleum at the WTC and the

futuristic Sphere in Doha, were divided with CBI Europe’s wall systems. The client, aware

of how a work environment of high quality creates wellbeing for its employees, and

therefore improving their performance, keeping in mind, the hi-tech division of space

- functional, customizable, comfortable, with varying degrees of privacy and sharing -

could only choose Wall System and Genesy, systems which configure a sophisticated

space, designed according to CBI Europe’s concept “the person at the centre.”

WALL SYSTEM: FLEXIBLE AND HI-TECH PARTITION SYSTEM Above all, flexibility

means flexible spaces. CBI EUROPE’S Wall System is the answer to current space and en-

vironmental needs of flexibility.Modular elements of design and quality, in glass, wood

and aluminium, which can be assembled on site quickly and directly contribute to

the creation of a new concept of interiors going beyond the simplicity of division.Wall

System is like a puzzle, it allows you to create, move, and easily change the individual mo-

dules according to the organizational needs, the architectural choices and personal taste.

Contemporary interiors, elegant and bright, but mostly hi-tech: technical and functional.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES, MATERIALS RESEARCH, INTERNATIONAL COMPARISONS,

ITALIAN STYLE AND CREATIVITY

The office is an organised work environment where information is received and processed, and purely

conceptual activities are carried out; an area, therefore, reserved for cognitive/decision-making activi-

ties rather than for developing manual skills. Recent studies have shown that operator performance is

strictly related to the environment where the work is conducted, and have highlighted several risk

factors: micro-climate, air quality, exposure to noise, unsuitable illumination and viewing conditions,

prolonged seated posture, injury, risk of allergies, psycho-physical stress, etc. The resulting effects -

sick building syndrome - cause discomfort and, consequently, poor performance.

The solution lies in designing work environments with minimal exposure to risk factors or readapting exi-

sting environments, by optimising the micro-climate, acoustics, environmental illumination and ergo-

nomics of the workplace. Although the current regulations provide detailed indications concerning

environmental control of buildings, these are rather general (the traditional ‘one-size fits all’ approach).

With over 25 years experience in 70 countries worldwide, CBI Europe - in line with recent studies

conducted by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and in collaboration with the

Urban Land Institute (ULI) - adopts a more evolved approach in designing its products, whereby perso-

nal spaces are controlled autonomously - which translates into effective, eco-sustainable and socially

responsible solutions. This approach is based on advanced technologies, materials research, interna-

tional comparisons, Italian style and creativity.

Personally controlling our surroundings generates comfort, well-being and high performance.
