The commercial district of Euljiro lighting encompasses

around 250m from Euljiro 4-ga Station to Euljiro 3-ga Station,

including Daelim Shopping District and Cheonggye Shopping

District, and was established here with the architecture

material-related industry in the 1960s.

The Euljiro lighting industry enjoyed its peak time from

1970 to 1980. However, with the inflow of more affordable

Chinese products, the Euljiro lighting industry started to shrink.

Moreover, as Seun Arcade and Euljiros surrounding area

were designated as a redevelopment district, it became more

difficult to make further investment and support and

the industry shrank even more.

However, there are still around 200 lighting stores brightening

up Euljiro today. Euljiro was getting darker and darker.

To transform the shrinking lighting industry, the leaders

and artists of the Euljiro lighting industry and designers

and students got together.

The key strategy of [Euljiro, light way 2016 ] is collaboration

marketing. collaboration marketing refers to the marketing

strategy that is beneficial to all of the leaders and artists of

the Euljiro lighting industry and the designers and students

participating in [Euljiro, light way 2016 ].
