Homeless There are Over 18,000 Homeless People in
Metro Detroit Of those 18,000, 30% are chronically
homeless and 25% are children. Nearly half of the homeless population in Detroit are families.
Homeless get some of their food from soup kitchenssome people line up to get a bed in a shelter, but have to leave the next morning.
Native American 39% of Native Americans are illegal Some live on reservations Most continue to celebrate traditional
native culture There are around 48,000 Native Americans
in Detroit There are about 395,000 Native Americans
in Michigan Native Americans bring along with them
there culture such as foods and traditions
Latin American Usually live in poverty Some live in Mexican communities Some are illegal immigrants who crossed
the border illegally Those who immigrated legally work and
live in our community Bring over their cultures to the U.S sometimes come to start a new life many central americans open traditional
restaurants and bakery.
