Rhonna Nelson, LMSW, DCSW, CAADC, P.C. is a Licensed
Psychotherapist who has been in practice since 1979. She is certified in EMDR, is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and is qualified as a Department of Transportation/Substance Abuse Professional. She has worked in out-patient treatment settings for mental health, detoxification units and in-patient treatment settings for chemical dependency services. Rhonna presently has a private practice in Bingham Farms, MI where she maintains a general practice for treating adults. Her specialties are couples, chemical dependence issues, sexual abuse survivors, and eating disorders. She frequently sees the person with the identified problem, as well as significant others impacted by these concerns. Rhonna has a direct style that facilitates the client’s abilities to improve self-care and personal responsibility.
Overview "Ethics Training and Pain Management" will help so-cial workers/treatment providers increase aware-ness of how attitudes impact professional prac-tices; increase understanding of the Social Work Code of Ethics; and provide ethical guidelines in work with clients and colleagues. Ethics and tech-nology, and self-protection for the practitioner will be addressed. In addition, professionals will learn to assist clients in identifying alternatives to medi-cation for managing emotional and physical pain. Course Fee $ 80.00. This fee includes morning and afternoon snacks and beverages, program registration, continuing education credits (if needed), program materials, and a certificate of completion for each participant attending the entire training. No partial credits will be given. Continuing Education Credits: MI Social Work CE Collaborative Clock Hours: 6.0. 5.0 Ethics and 1.0 Pain Management. MCBAP "SPECIFIC to Substance Abuse" continuing education credits: 6.0. Those needing credits should bring permanent ID number for sign-in/sign-out process. Who Should Attend: Social workers, psychotherapists, clinicians and nurses at all levels will increase awareness and understanding of the Social Work Code of Ethics; case examples will be presented of how the codes were utilized and evaluated in everyday practice.
Presentation and discussion will also address the benefits of increased self-awareness and self-protection. Learning Objectives:
