ESS IN ACTION : TESTIMONIAL

I am writing to show and tell you o the in-

feld perormance o the antastic protective eyewear

ESS has developed. The attached photos were taken

beore and ater a sniper attack outside o Mosul,

Iraq, on July 3, 2006. I was positioned in the right

rear hatch o my rolling Stryker when a sniper that

had claimed the lie o a ellow soldier and good

riend three days prior struck again. This time, the

snipers bullet hit my gun mount and continued on to

ragment and splatter on the right lens o my ESS

CDI sunglasses. While I was knocked down with the

impact o the bullet, I suered only minor injuries to

my head and was back in action within the week.

As strong testimony to the physical toughness o the

CDI glasses, ater the sniper attack I simply replaced

the ractured lenses and continued to wear theglasses in combat or the remaining fve months o

duty in Baghdad. The rames were dinged a bit, but

still unctioned as new, even ater taking a hit rom a

7.62 sniper round. Many thanks to your product development department and all o

those associated with making these fne products available to our brave young men and

women that continue to fght the fght in Iraq and Aghanistan.

I am overseas in OEF, but wanted to share with you my positive

experience with your new Crossbow eyeshields. I have tested these in 111

deg temperatures in the deserts o Jordan to below reezing (at night) in

the mountains o Aghanistan. The Crossbows perormed even better thanexpectedthey are hands down the best eye pro Ive worn since being

assigned to special operations. The lenses provide a lot o coverage and give

you ull peripheral use. They are lightweight and comortable to wear, even

under Peltors. The optics are just as great in the morning twilight as they

are at high noon. Most guys end up taking o their eye pro halway through a

mission because o ogging, but the Crossbows held up like a champ. I have

never managed to og up the lenses, which is something ESS should be proud

o, since I have ogged all other eyewear that I have ever tried. Even when

dropping down a pair o NVGs ater working up a sweat, ogging was not a

problem at all. You guys have really hit the mark with these. The Crossbows

are the only eye pro I can wear anymorethank you or making such a great

product!

Dear ESS, I am writing this letter to inorm and thank you or the high

quality o your eyewear. I am currently stationed in the Middle East as part o

Operation Iraqi Freedom. I am the gunner on top o our HMMV. A ew days

2004, in southern Iraq, the Humvee that I was gunning encountered an IED,

(an approximately 155mm artillery shell). The IED exploded ten eet rom
