toISMin2014.Welcomealsotoour31newstudentsand

familieswhohavestartedoverthepasttendaysat

ISM. Justastransioningoutofaschoolandacountrycan

provideuswithsomechallenges,sotoocantransioningintoanewenvironment. Ourgoaloverthenextweeksisto

makeallthenewmembersofourcommunityfeelthatthey

arepartoftheISMfamilyandthatISMisaplacethatthey

lookforwardtoandenjoycomingto,eachday. Thisisdone

attheclassroomlevel,withteachersandclasspeers,but

alsoontheplaygroundandinthecorridorsthrough

thedailyinteraconsthateverypersononourcampushas.

OnTuesdaymorningwewelcomedournewfamilieswitha

coffeemorningandtheywereabletomeet

membersofourPTAaswellsomeoftheElementarySchool

faculty,includingourGuidanceCounselors.

Thiswasthebeginningoftheongoingconversaon

withnewparentsabouttheirchild'slearningatISM.

IfyouareanewmemberofISM,pleasedoknowthatour

doorsarealwaysopenandthatweareheretoassistyou in

yourtransiontothebestofourabilies.Ifyouareoneof

ourmanyexisngfamilies,pleasedotakethemeto

engageinthosecorridorconversaonswithournewstudentsandfamiliesandhelpmaketheirjourneyintoISMa

smoothone.

CrazyHairDayNextWednesday22ndJanuary,ourStudentCouncilwillbeholdingacrazyhairdayforallElementarystudents. Thisis

enrelyvoluntaryandonenotdesignedtocauseanyfamiliesstressorunnecessaryexpenditureonhairprod-

ucts!WhenStudentCouncilmetattheendoflastsemestertheytalkedaboutwaysofconnuingtosupportand

buildoursenseofcommunityintheElementarySchoolandthenweendedupwithCrazyHairDay!

anacvesengandcelebrangleadinganacvelifestyle.

Sportsdayalsoprovidesawonderfulopportunityforstudents

todisplaygoodsportsmanship.Somestudents

wereinvolvedthisweekinmakingaSportsmanshipCommer-

cialinreadinessforSportsday.

2013/14. To reduce the inconvenience to parents of this re-placement program, the old parent ID cardswill be valid for

schoolaccessunl theendof thefirstsemesteronDecember

18th,2013. Thestandardnewparentcardswillbeissuedfreeof

charge. Parentsmay,however,elect toapply forasmartcard

IDwhichwillbeusablewiththenewcashlesspaymentsystem

beingintroducedintotheschoolforSY2013-14. Therewillbea

feeofP250.00forasmartcardwhichcoversinparttheregistra-

onfeetheschoolisrequiredtopayforeachcardissued.
