Message from the desk of the Pastor
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today we celebrate the sixth Sunday of Easter. One of the most important thing Jesus asks of us and commands us to do is — To Love one another — The night before he died, he gave us a simple command: To love one another as he loved us. The model and standard for Christian behavior is this love which Christ has shown for us on the Cross.
Fulfilling the commandment of love draws us into the family of God. In the evening of life we will not be judged by our weaknesses or our faults but on the amount of love we have shown. Therefore, let us love one another.
My brothers and sisters,
The month of May stores images of sunshine, flowers, processions, crowning…. In honoring Mary, the Mother of the Church
and our Mother.
May is devoted to Mary. There is a great need in the Church today to return to the devotion and prayer of the Blessed Mother.
Let us make a sincere effort to say the rosary during May. Let us decide to recite the rosary in Church with the groups who do this every Sunday before mass.
“When two or three are gathered in my name I am in their midst.”
May God bless you all.
Sincerely yours in Christ, Fr. Joseph
Thank you St Anthony’s for all your good
deeds, and prayers for our family.
God bless you all,
Richard & Dolores
Clinton Never be ashamed of a scar. It simply means you were stronger than
whatever tried to hurt you.
It has been about three weeks since I have been back on my normal routine of driving to and from class by myself. Honestly, I remember the very first day of being back on the roads by myself ever since the accident and it was scary. I never knew how bad my emotional state was until I went back to driving by myself. I am still so afraid of being hit again. Now, every time I leave for class in the mornings and when I drive back home, I repeat the words, “God, please keep me safe.” It is the only way that calms me down when I drive and also by listening to my favorite radio station -KSBJ. I don’t know why bad things happen to good people, but God always has a reason for why He does things the way He does. It seems like car accidents are the new norm now, since it is constantly on the news and social media. Some people are either in the hospital fighting for their lives, has passed away from being in a car accident, or survived from it like me. Every time I hear about how someone was in a car accident, I am more sensitive to it than I was before because I know what that feels like and it is a scary feeling. Every week that has passed by, I have been getting much better and stronger than ever! I decided to write about this because what I went through changed my life and it is part of the many scars I have. I am not talking about scars that are physically visible on my body, but on the inside of me. I will always be open about everything I have been through and share my testimony with everyone because there may be someone out there who is currently going through the same thing and might be too afraid to talk about it with anyone. Your scars are beautiful because every one of them made you who you are today. Whatever you went through to get your scar, made you stronger. Keep fighting your battles because you are a fighter. Please listen to “Warrior” by Hannah Kerr. “Every scar on my skin is a beautiful reminder of a moment when I didn’t give in and I walked through fire. ‘Cause in the dark there is a light. Your truth it keeps on burning bright. Makes me brave to fight the fight and shout the battle cry. You’ll never stop me, I’m a warrior. When I fall down, I get stronger. Faith is my shield, His love is the
armor. I will keep the hope alive. I will find the strength inside. I am a warrior, I will survive." Kylie

We need to see each child as a gift to be welcomed, cherished and protected. And we need to care for our young people, not al-lowing them to be robbed of hope and condemned to life on the streets. It was a frail child, in need of pro-tection, who brought God’s goodness, mercy and justice into the world. He resisted the dishonesty and corruption which are the legacy of sin, and he triumphed over them by the power of his cross. —from The Blessing of Family: Inspiring Words from Pope Francis

Please Pray for Priests
Dear Lord, we pray that the Blessed Mother wrap her mantle around your priests and through her intercession strengthen them for their ministry. We pray that Mary will guide your priests to follow her own words, “Do whatever He tells you” (Jn 2:5) May your priest have the heart of St. Joseph, Mary’s most chaste spouse. May the Blessed Mother’s own pierced heart inspire them to embrace all who suffer at the foot of the cross. May your priest be holy, filled with the fire of your love seek-ing nothing but your greater glory and the salvation of souls. Amen.
St. John Vianney, pray for us.
