    Il Ciclo del Riciclo Exhibition- roadshow

    ERP Italy participated to the 2010 editionof " Il Ciclo del Riciclo", an itinerantexhibition, during both the Monza andConcorezzo stops. This exhibitionrepresents an important occasion for thecitizens who thus have the opportunity ofbetter understanding and discovering thelife-cycle of the materials that make up oureveryday objects, finding out more on theirpossible use if collected separately. Animportant feature of the exhibition were

    schools, offering young people theopportunity to understand and investigatethese issues through simple examples.

    ERP Italy was present at the exhibitionwith a section on WEEE and Battery

    waste, explaining simply and clearly thelife cycle of these products and theenvironmentally correct behavior thatevery citizen should follow with regards tothem.

    Toy Story 3 event: 19th June 2010

    On 19 June 2010, in five Italian squares a special collection of toys took place and a significantnumber of toys in good state was collected and given to the Association “Vola nel cuore”, whichdistributed them at Christmas to the hospitals and kindergartens all over Italy; furthermore, a goodquantity of WEEE contained in those toys was collected and later conveyed to the nearbytreatment plants and put in the proper treatment/recycle cycle.Through the delivery of an information brochure it was then possible to interact with the childrenexplaining ERP’s activities and giving them some relevant suggestions for a proper environmentalbehaviour. This leaflet together with vouchers were given to all those handing in their toys.

    ERP Recycling Picnic – summer event -1

    Campaign Description

    To hold a Family Fun Summer take-back event – bring back 5 electrical items and

    receive tickets to enter the ERP Recycling Picnic

    The event could be held at a park/community square - take-back event in the car park

    The Picnic would be a family orientated event with activities for different ages – Could

    have a recycling art workshop for children and a local artist; a recycling talk with a

    leading environmentalist for adults; stands with local produce, member stalls;

    community games; carnival theme; puppet show on recycling messages; treasure

    hunts, sports day activities

    ERP Recycling Picnic – summer event - 3

    Key Messages

    The aim of ERP’s Recycling Picnic is to raise awareness amongst families of the

    importance of recycling unwanted electronic goods

    Research indicates that the average thirty year old couple has thirty electrical and

    electronic products in their household

    Instead of hoarding broken, unused hair straighteners, gaming and computer

    equipment, mobile phones and chargers, ERP is encouraging XX community to

    declutter and recycle at the ERP Recycling Picnic

    ERP Recycling Picnic is a progression of the Recycling Party campaign

    Offer to encourage participation

    Free family oriented summer entertainment

    Founding partner /member sponsorship for prizes
