    Economy

    Duration of study: 3 years/ 6 semesters (180 ECTS)

    Professional orientation: Commercial business and small

    entrepreneurship

    Professional qualification: Bachelor of Economics

    The main aim and purpose of the study is to introduce,

    depending on the orientation, the fundamental and the most

    advanced theoretical and practical aspects of professional

    performance and implementation of commercial and

    entrepreneurial skills. Professional study of Economics teaches

    and trains students for managing small and medium firms. It is

    dedicated for students who see their future in employment and

    self-employment in small and medium enterprises and service

    firms, consulting and engineering firms. By completion of

    studies, students acquire:

    Adequate basic economic knowledge, basicmathematical and statistical knowledge, and Knowledge

    in the field of application of information technology;

    Appropriate theoretical and technical knowledgerelated to research and application of analytical methodsand models;

    By taking professional orientation, students acquirespecific knowledge and skills connected to it as well as

    the mastery of basic economic knowledge and specifics

    related to each profession;

    The mandatory professional practice aims to enablestudents of high quality business practices needed for

    direct involvement in the world of business;

    Study provides a respectable amount of knowledgeand skills necessary to successfully communicate and

    share information

    Graduate students of this orientation will be able to perform

    tasks of higher levels of responsibility:

    Private and public sector, Offices of the territorial organization, businesses, Public administration (local, regional,) Professional and other associations, As independent experts in the field of trade and small

    business entrepreneurship.

    Karst agriculture

    Duration of study: 3 years/ 6 semesters (180 ECTS)

    Professional orientation: Karst plant production and karst

    animal husbandry

    Professional qualification: Bachelor of Karst Agriculture

    During the first five semesters, in addition to theoretical

    teaching, students are required to participate in practicaleducation in laboratories, research laboratories and in

    Innovation and technological center of the Polytechnic. In the

    fifth semester, students are given vast selection of facultative

    courses through which they can expand their knowledge by

    selecting different modules of their choice to acquire specialist

    knowledge in certain technologies of plant and livestock

    production.

    Depending on the group of selected modules, they may be able

    to work independently within their professional area (crop

    production and animal husbandry), or continue their education

    at the graduate level within the biotech and other sciences.

    They will be able to find their jobs on their own property, or as

    managers and organizers of crop production on farms of large

    floor-lords (big food production companies), or work as

    assistants in agricultural products and equipment trade.

    Upon completion of their studies, students will be qualified

    for the following jobs:

    Farm production manager and / or supervisor; small farmmanager; administrative clerk in the bodies of local self-

    government for a variety of tasks in the field of agriculture

    and rural sector; technical assistant in the research

    institutions in the field of agriculture (senior technician);

    and associate in the affairs of trade and transport of

    agricultural equipment and products.

    Basic agricultural fields so that they can continue theireducation in graduate studies in any of the fields of

    agricultural or related sciences

    Team and individual work and basic skills of businesscommunication (situation analysis, writing applications and

    reports for projects, public relations communication).

    Food Technology

    Duration of study: 3 years/ 6 semesters (180 ECTS)

    Professional orientation: Food technology

    Professional qualification: Bachelor of Food Technology

    Main objective of professional stuy Foo technology is in

    the development of "professional skills" that are needed for

    quick inclusion in the process of working in different sectors of

    the economy and the SME sector, or continuing studies at

    specialist graduate study as determined by a transfer of ECTS

    credits. During the first four semesters, with theoretical part of

    the course, students perform laboratory practices through

    intensive practical work in the laboratory and in the Innovation

    Centre. In the fifth semester, students have the opportunity to

    expand their knowledge through elective courses. In the last

    semester students are performing only practical work in the

    Innovation Center or in the food industry. During their studies,

    students gains general and specific competencies and skills,

    with which they will be able to work independently in their

    own or co-owner businesses. Completion of the study they will

    be able to follow the latest trends in the profession and they

    are able to directly manage complex technological processes.

    Upon completion of their studies, students will be qualified

    for the following jobs:

    Establishing and managing their own processing ofagricultural products,

    Management of production in the food industry, Professional development of food industries and

    products

    Professional activity in business associations, Professional jobs from the domain of food in public

    institutions,

    Assistance in the inspection business services, Consulting activity, Competence in food handling in large shopping malls and

    warehouses

    University of Applied Sciences "Marko Maruli" in

    Knin

    University "Marko Marulic" has been founded by Decree of

    foundation of the Government of Republic of Croatia (NN

    73/05), with primarily intention to establish and perform

    professional studies. Professional studies have been performed

    in three professional fields through the following departments:

    1) Karst Agriculture - professional studies of Agriculture:

    a) Karst Agriculture - Animal Husbandry andb) Karst Agriculture - Plant Production

    2) Food Technology - professional studies of Food Technology

    3) Economics - professional studies of Economy

    a) Trade Businessb) Small Entrepreneurship

    4) Innovation Center - stuents practical work an researchand innovations projects department

    Professional studies duration: Professional studies last six

    semesters and by completion 180 ECTS points are acquired.

    Studies are organized according to the Bologna principles whatenable stuents mobility on other universities in countries that

    signed the Bologna Declaration.

    Possibilities of further studies: By completion of professional

    studies, student could go on specialist professional studies

    according to established ways of ECTS t ransfer.

    Specialist professional study "Economic and Normative Frame

    of Entrepreneurship"

    By completion professional studies of Economics, all students

    are entitled to take specialist professional study "Economic andNormative Frame of Entrepreneurship" and by completion they

    acquire title Specialist of Economics.

    Specialist Professional Graduate Study "Economic and

    Normative Frame of Entrepreneurship"

    Duration of study: 2 years (120 ECTS points)

    Professional or Academic title: Professional Specialist of

    Economics

    Conditions of enrolment: completion of professional study of

    at least three years or pregraduate university study from the

    fields of economics or law.

    By completion of specialist graduate professional study,

    student should acquire knowledge and skills from the field of

    economics and law (approximately same competences from

    booth fields) for direct involvement in labor market; he/she will

    have competences for many jobs in economy, as follows:

    Organization and management of business entities ineconomy

    concluding and contracting of agreements specifically jobs in agriculture and tourism commercial jobs in public administration administrative and non-administrative jobs in public

    administration

    jobs in banks, saving institutions, funds, insurancecompanies and other financial institutions

    financial and accounting jobs in e ntrepreneurship international business activities accounting and financial jobs in public administration Broker and dealer jobs on the mercantile exchanges,

    securities exchanges, money markets and service

    exchanges.Entrepreneurial competences are included in all European

    national curriculums as one of eight basic competences, as well

    as National learning strategy for entrepreneurship. Theentrepreneurship learning aims to achieve one of its main

    priorities, encouraging and strengthen of entrepreneurship for

    improving sustainable economic development for Croatia.
