Week Begins February 3 Connection Sunday

Pastor Mark is starting a new study next week (Jan.13) in the cafeteria called “We The Church.” It’s focused on what it means to be followers of Jesus with a specific reflection on how that question has shaped the history of the LCMS.

Year End Recap from Pastor Mark It has been about six months since I was installed as Senior Pastor. I thank you for your partnership and patience over that time. God, as always, has been at work among us. A few highlights:

Saying farewell to Mr. Richards and appointing Dr. Dietrich as interim principal Gathering congregation feedback, passing a building/renovation plan unanimously Realize capital campaign: $1.233 million pledged and $268,634 received so far Massive school accreditation progress: solid plan for curriculum review/revamp Finalizing construction plans and starting coordination of Design Teams Our first two Connection Sundays supported by a new Fellowship Committee Worship attendance is up 10% over the previous year A half-dozen baptisms and a “New to St. Paul” class with 29 new disciples received

Behind the scenes, other things are in motion – new congregational database, up-dating our governance, principal call committee, etc. God is doing very special things.

You should have received your first month of 2019 offering envelopes mailed directly to your home. You will not receive a big box of whole-year envelopes. If there has been a delay, you can use leftover 2018 envelopes or any other (we really just need your name or envelope number). Overall, this subtle change acknowledges two very important things: 1) Our demographics are dynamic…and I anticipate us continuing to grow this year and 2) God invites regularity in our giving (1 Cor.16:2, et.al.) and our systems can beneficially echo that value.

Amplify is where middle school students gather together to enjoy the community of friends God has given us! We meet twice a month for a time of games and prayer. All middle school kids are invited to come! Our next Amplify is Wednesday, January 16 at 3:31 pm in the gym.

Revolve is a time when our St. Paul high school family hangs out together. We meet twice a month on Thursday nights where we play games, eat a snack, and pray togeth-er. We also meet every Sunday for Bible study at 9:30am in the 2nd grade classroom. Any high school student can join us! The next Thursday session is January 10th at 6:02 - 7:30pm. We’ll start out in the St. Paul gym.
