The FBM KLCI index gained 4.27 points or 0.27% on Tuesday. The Finance Index increased

0.93% to 14026.62 points, the Properties Index up 0.36% to 1109.32 points and the Planta-tion Index down 0.25% to 6782.5 points. The market traded within a range of 17.95 points be-

tween an intra-day high of 1594.91 and a low of 1576.96 during the session.

Actively traded stocks include TMS, FBMKLCI-C12, AIRASIA, IFCAMSC, FBMKLCI-HK, TIGER,

CSL, FRONTKN, FBMKLCI-H5 and FBMKLCI-HG. Trading volume increased to 2007.33 mil

shares worth RM1706.26 mil as compared to Monday’s 1684.39 mil shares worth RM1530.84

mil.

Leading Movers were MAYBANK (+20 sen to RM8.58), SKPETRO (+4 sen to RM1.74), BAT

(+124 sen to RM61.26), YTL (+3 sen to RM1.59) and HLFG (+14 sen to RM13.96). Lagging Mov-

ers were SIME (-17 sen to RM7.20), GENTING (-13 sen to RM6.88), GENM (-4 sen to RM3.97),

KLCC (-7 sen to RM7.04) and WPRTS (-1 sen to RM4.21). Market breadth was positive with

547 gainers as compared to 243 losers.

The KLCI reversed its losses at midday, closing higher at 1587.12 points underpinned by gains

in Maybank and Sapurakencana Petroleum. Market breadth was positive, buoyed by bargain

hunting activities.
