The FBM KLCI index lost 2.76 points or 0.17% on Tuesday. The Finance Index increased 0.01% to

14151.99 points, the Properties Index dropped 0.42% to 1189.81 points and the Plantation Index

down 0.02% to 7457.31 points. The market traded within a range of 6.07 points between an intra-

day high of 1672.04 and a low of 1665.97 during the session.

Actively traded stocks include UTOPIA, INSTACO, XOX, GENETEC, INSTACO-WB, SUMATEC, CSL, RGB,

APFT and EFFICEN. Trading volume decreased to 1781.47 mil shares worth RM1684.58 mil as com-

pared to Monday’s 1788.25 mil shares worth RM1741.30 mil.

Leading Movers were HLBANK (+16 sen to RM13.14), GENM (+2 sen to RM4.33), IOICORP (+1 sen to

RM4.22), DIGI (+1 sen to RM5.10) and MAXIS (+1 sen to RM6.61). Lagging Movers were PETGAS (-44

sen to RM22.88), SKPETRO (-3 sen to RM2.10), SIME (-10 sen to RM7.71), WPRTS (-3 sen to RM4.13)

and AMMB (-2 sen to RM4.60). Market breadth was negative with 393 gainers as compared to 423

losers.

The KLCI closed lower at 1669.24 points amid overnight losses in US market following tumble of oil

prices. The performance of our local bourse was in tandem with most of our regional peers.
