    EPGPprovidesstudentswithasolidfoundationinkeymanagementconceptsanddisciplines.Theacademicyearisdividedintofiveterms:twotermsdevotedtocore courses,onetermfortheInternationalImmersionmodule,andtwotermsprimarilyforelectives.Themesdrawnfromtherealmofthesocialscienceshavebeenintegratedintotheprogrammeinastructuredmanner leading to a nuanced, multi-layered understanding of management issues.

    Core coursesarecompulsoryforallEPGPstudentsandconcentrateontherangeofknowledgeandskillsrequiredofallsuccessful senior managers.     The International Immersion module is designed to give students insights into the economic, social, political and cultural life of emergingeconomiessuchasChina,Russia,BrazilandSouthAfricaordevelopedcountriessuchasSingaporeorSouthKorea.Asthefirstpartofthemodule,therearepre-immersionsessionsatIIMB.Industryandcountryspecialists,speakersfromtheMinistryofExternalAffairs,officialsfromthecountrytobevisited and other experts give lectures on the country, its society, economy and business opportunities.

    Theclassthentravelstothecountrytospendtwoweekshostedby one of the top local business schools. They attend lectures

    onthecountry’seconomyandsocietywithspecificemphasisonissuesaffectingbusinessandindustry;goonfieldvisitstolocalplantsandcorporateoffices;meetwithbusinessandgovernmentleaders; and attend cultural events and visit historical sites to help them understand the intricacies of the country.

    Theclassisdividedintogroupsoffiveorsixmemberstoworkoncompany-basedprojects.TheystartthepreliminarybackgroundpreparationatIIMBandcompletetheirprojectsduringtheinternational immersion. After returning from the trip, each studentpreparesareportonhisorherkeyexperiencesandalsocontributes to a report on the group projects.
