DELORAINE SHOW

HOME INDUSTRIES SECTION ALL EXHIBITS TO BE RECEIVED from 8.30am to 10.30am on FRIDAY, 21st NOVEMBER, 2014. A WATCHMAN WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE ON FRIDAY NIGHT.

CONDITIONS: All Sections: Prize/Money: 1st $2.00, 2nd $1.00 unless otherwise stated. Where there is a trophy 2nd $2.00. Entry fees 50c; - for multiple exhibitors all entries over $20.00 worth will be free. (The Committee reserves the right to amend Prizes where a sponsor withdraws or fails to meet a commitment, and/or to substitute trophies in lieu of prize money.)

All Children’s ages to be stated on Entry Form.

ALL WORK MUST BE BONAFIDE WORK OF EXHIBITOR.

Special exhibit numbers will be issued and must be firmly and conspicuously attached to exhibit by staples, stitching or safety pins.

PHOTOGRAPHY, PHOTOSCRAPPING & SHORT STORY exhibitors are asked to send Entries to the Home Industries Secretary by Wednesday 12th November and Exhibits to be with Home Industries Secretary no later than Friday 14th November.

Entries may be left in boxes provided at the Deloraine Newsagency, 30 Emu Bay Road, Deloraine; Amble Inn Snack Bar, 23-25 Emu Bay Road, Deloraine; or left at 145 Emu Bay Road, Deloraine.

*Exhibitors are asked to include a stamped self-addressed envelope with entries for return of Exhibit Tickets and receipt.

LATE ENTRIES accepted in Floral Section ONLY. These will be taken on Judging Day, Friday 21st NOVEMBER in Floral Pavilion until 10.30am.

DEFINITION OF A NOVICE: One who has never won a First Prize in that class at any previous Deloraine Show. No exhibit is to be removed from the Industrial Hall, Floral and Photography Pavilions before 4.00pm. The Industrial Hall, Floral and Photography Buildings will close at 3.45pm and will re-open at 4.15pm for collection of exhibits. Only persons collecting exhibits will be allowed in after this time. Prize money to be collected from Secretary in Industrial Hall after 4.15pm on Show Day, unless previously arranged. (Floral Section prize money may be collected with exhibits.) Every care will be taken of exhibits, but NO RESPONSIBILITY will be incurred by Deloraine Agricultural & Pastoral Society Inc. All cooking to be done at least twelve (12) hours before judging day. All cooking and sweets to be on proportionately sized paper or plastic plates with Exhibit Number firmly attached.

EXHIBIT TICKETS MUST BE FIRMLY ATTACHED

BY STAPLES, STITCHING OR SAFETY PINS. NO STRAIGHT PINS ALLOWED.

All exhibitors must either send or bring entry forms when collecting exhibits. No exhibits to be entered that have previously won a First Prize at the Deloraine Show, except in Collections of One Person’s Work or Organisations. Age of article must not be any more than 5 yrs old. Exhibitors may enter more than one article in any one class, but no single article may be entered in more than one class. All Tapestry must be framed or made into article. Stewards have the power to re-allocate exhibits, if in their opinion, they are wrongly classed. Points for Section Trophies: 1st—3 points; 2nd—2 points; 3rd—1 point - In the event of a tie, a Best Exhibit will count.

Knitting must be finished without knots and wool joined at side seams with no ends. Babies’ knitwear - flat seams must be used - also on cuffs and bands. Elasticity in casting on, right side out and off. Shape and proportion of garment is important. Crochet - Great care and choice of design, with even tension. Joining of work is very important.
