3Energy: EDF coatings solutions for the nuclear power industry

We provide an unparalleled service to the French nuclear power market. Working with our partner Maestria, we are a recognized leader in our selected market segments including anti corrosive coatings for nuclear power plants and we continually improve our product off ering to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.

We are technology leaders in the following categories:

• high performance protective coatings

• anti-corrosive coatings for nuclear power plants

• tank linings

• high temperature and under insulation coatings

• passive fire and cryogenic spill protection (FIRETEX® range)

• pipeline coatings

• high performance fl ooring coatings.

Maestria systems are qualifi ed to meet the requirements for each

zone of a nuclear power plant, including the second and third

generation of EPR design. Maestria offers coating systems that

are qualifi ed for all zones, including the reactor containment area.

These specifi cations do not include a level 3 specifi cation.

Testing is based on ASTM/ANSI standards.

The protective coatings are supplied by Sherwin-Williams, these coatings play an integral

part in the functionality and operational reliability of nuclear power plants. We create

products to meet the highest standards in the nuclear industry:

• EDF/AREVA/SGN-COGEMA/CEA/ICORR approvals

• non-toxic products/free from harmful substances

• conformity with directives 1999/13/CE SED and 2004/42/CE COV

• IS0 9001 certifi ed.

EDF specifi cation

Under the EDF specifi cation, all systems (level 1.2 and 3) need to undergo performance testing to prove specifi ed fi tness for purpose as well as fi re testing (fl ame spread, smoke formation).

Level 1and 2 systems need to pass decontamination testing. For level 1 additional testing is required:

cycle testing with radiation and heat exposure as design basis accident (DBA) tests.
