Saturday will also include two workshop sessions with many options to choose from, a catered lunch, business meeting, installation of new officers, and a closing service. An offering will be taken which will go towards the cost of our global guests coming for Triennial. Key Note Speaker: Rev. Lisa Orris has been a pastor at Hope Covenant Church in Crystal Lake, IL since 2012. She is a gifted communicator and has a passion for knowing and communicating God’s Word effectively. She started her career as a drug and alcohol counselor as well as a counselor in correctional facilities until God decided He had other plans…mother- hood! She is the mother of Lauren and Michael and their oldest, Billy who was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2015. After receiving the Presidential Scholarship at North Park Theological Seminary and graduating with a Master of Divinity from there in 2006, Lisa accepted a call to the Department of Church Growth and Evangelism for the Evangelical Covenant Church. Morning Workshop options include:

“The Power of Words” – Tracey Wright will share how the power of words have the potential to build up and encourage, or tear down and destroy.

“God is Our Refuge”- Kathy Johnson testifies to the Amazing grace/mercy God reigned down on her during her victorious cancer journey.

“When God Calls you at 2:00 in the morning and Wants to Have Coffee”- Linda Palmer shares how we can use the practices of Silence and Solitude to be in God’s presence now.

“Choose Life Over Death” – Pia Restrepo will discuss how in our every day living we face opportunities to be recipients of God’s blessings and God’s opportunity for transformation.

“Pintar para animar”-(Spanish) Monse Gonzalez will show us practical ways we can encourage others and by doing so be encouraged ourselves.

“Immigration” –more TBA – Jill Warner

Afternoon Workshop options include:

“Zero Waste Lifestyle… How about 40% less” – Nikki Andrews and Sara Uhler will show you some easy, cost friendly changes you can make to be better stewards of God’s earth.

“The Story Behind the Song” – Nancy Nellis will help us take a deeper look at the inspiration behind our favorite hymns and worship songs. We will also do some singing.

“Gospel Movement” – Tracey Wright will show us how to have fun while burning those calories to Christian music.

“The Discipline of Trust” – Rev. Jill Lind will teach on how to hold on to God’s promises in anxious times.

“La mujer integra!” –(Spanish) Es como el lirio de los valles with Drina Lizama.

“Make and Take Encouraging Cards” with Lois Miller

Worship Leader: Cara Yavalliolah has been a member of the Hope Church family in Crystal Lake, IL since birth. She started singing on Hope’s worship team in sixth grade, which helped foster a love of music and worship ministry. Cara was excited and humbled when the opportunity to serve Hope as the Inter-im Director of Worship came around. Hope has been the place where her faith and her passion for worship have beenformed.

Enneagram Leader: Rev. Jen Zerby grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and came to faith after being invited to the youth group at Batavia Covenant Church, where she later began her career in ministry. She came to Hillcrest Covenant in DeKalb in 2010 as the Associate Pastor and became the lead pastor in 2014. Pastor Jen completed her Master of Divinity degree from North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, and was ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church in 2011. Pastor Jen is passionate about people of all ages coming to know and understand the depth of God’s love for us.

Guest Missionary: Rev Pia Peña Restrepo is an ordained Cov-enant Pastor and missionary serving with her husband Eugenio as Regional Coordinators to Latin America and the Caribbean.

Items for Purchase: Will include the Abundant Living Center (ALC) Thai Bags, Freedom Firm jewelry – both ministries help support the women who make these items. There will also be note cards, and a raffle basket with lots of encouraging items.

AVA AdvocateA consultation time with Dawn Price, our AVA (Advocate for Victim of Abuse) representative, is also available at no charge. Please sign up when you sign in at Spring Celebration.

Our ProjectWe will be collecting toilet paper, paper towels. Kleenex, and feminine products to be given to a local ministry in the Central Conference. Please bring these items to Spring Celebration.
