01 What’s EmpowerMe? EmpowerMe is a project created by AIESEC GUC for the sake of empowering, teaching and touching the lives of unprivileged children by teaching them various basic school subjects such as English, Math, History and Geography through fun and entertaining methods also the project will be tackling basic health awareness for the children in order for them to avoid diseases and maintain their personal hygiene, the third and final chapter of the project is basically empowering children through fun activities and games that will have colors and numbers that will give them happiness and fulfillment and also teach them something that they need.

EmpowerMe was created with for the sake of drawing a smile on the faces of unprivileged and giving them hope in life and giving them an opportunity to develop and change something in them that might get them in the end to become better people with a mindset to change and develop themselves and others.

05Job description •Prepare, plan, and present classes to the students, [Books, VDOs, English Materials], and please note that most of these orphanages have basic conditions and some may not have items such as projectors. (Curriculum is based on the needs of the NGO)

•Interns who have a certain hobby, talent, or know how to play a musical instrument, will get the chance to show and teach the children extra skills.

•Interns will have chance to show their culture in Global Village activities organized by their host LC. Therefore, they must prepare traditional objects, clothes, and performance for this event.

08Exchange Program flow•Interns are expected to arrive in Egypt on same time as agenda; otherwise, they will not be able to attend the MANDATORY Preparation Camp.

•There will be organized airport pick-up for the interns and the interns must provide us with the details of their flights minimum with 2 weeks before the arrival.

•There will be organized preparation trainings in the first week and also an EP buddy orientation.

•In the middle of the project, we will have Evaluation Day for all interns and orphanages – to improve the performance and experience of the interns.

•During the project, interns will have many chances to learn Egyptian culture with local Egyptian people in rural area.

•The interns will have access to the groups specially created for them to communicate and organize trips for their free time during weekend.

AIESEC GUC AIESEC GUC started after a lot of effort and dedication and was sustained through remarkable young leaders who wanted to carry on the self-driven experience AIESEC has provided them with to students in the GUC. With it’s first welcome day for the first members recruited on campus on the 26th of December 2009, AIESEC GUC became an official expansion promising to change the lives of the 40 faces that reflected great potential. A year in, more than 100 members have experienced the amazing culture and work/fun environment AIESEC GUC provides for it’s members. A large number of students so far have been assigned to astounding leadership roles, and gone on life-altering marvelous international internships (Exchange Programs) that AIESEC GUC provides.
