When Bob James took the first steps toward establishing this firm, times
were simpler – stocks were still tracked and traded by hand and the Dow
Jones Industrial Average closed the year just above 652. But even then, Bob
realized that the business of investing needed to be done differently, and it
would require a different kind of firm to do it well. People needed plans that
looked beyond the next trade, and advisors needed a company that would

Winners of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy Awards were selected by an outside panel of judges who evaluated forms submitted by the corporations.
