THE MORNING OF YOUR GMAT

ITEM DONE

Go through your normal morning routine

Eat breakfast

Wear comfortable clothing, in layers

Grab your food, drink, Photo ID (passport required in US for non-citizens) and head to the Testing Center (plan to arrive early)

Optional: Listen to EMPOWERgmat Podcasts during breakfast or on the way to the Testing Center

THE GMAT: CHECK-IN

ITEM DONE

Go to front counter and present your ID

Go through Check-in (photo, palm scan, etc.)

Receive locker/key (put all belongings in locker)

Receive note board and marker

Moderator escorts you into the Computer Lab to begin the exam

THE GMAT: A TIMELINE

Check-In (10 -15 minutes)

Orientation Program; Select 5 schools to receive Scores (5 – 15 minutes)

Choose Either Verbal Section (65 minutes) OR Quant Section (62 minutes) First

8 minute break

If Quant First: Verbal Section (65 minutes); OR If Verbal First: Quant Section (62 minutes)

8 minute break

Integrated Reasoning (30 minutes)

AWA/Essay (30 minutes)

SCORE REPORTING: See scores, decide to keep or cancel IMPORTANT: Cancel if there’s ANY doubt (you can reactivate later, but you can’t cancel later). The schools won’t see that you cancelled. You can retake 16 days later (5 times max in a rolling year), and also decide to keep or cancel. If you like your score, you can keep it, if not you can either retake or reactivate another score (you have 60 days to decide to reactivate).
